Default Birthday Present

So my birthday is on the 1/30

And i've decided that i want 2 spoil me and my tC this year.

Already Running HotKISS Springs/Greddy Rear Strut.

But im sort of undecisive on what will be better

I want a front strut: Most likely Greddy Because i have the greddy rear strut.

I want a torque damper. but not sure if i go with DME or Ingalls

I want a rear Sway. Im not sure which one. Either TRD or PROGRESS.. i dont know which one is better

I want an ingalls 4point brace.. but im not sure if it will work with my rear strut bar.

Most likely picking up new set of tires(ziek912) on Friday.

FEEDBACK??????

I can only answer your sway bar question. Progress makes the TRD Rear Sway. The only difference
is the Progress comes with new end links. For about $20 more, I'd go with the Progress Rear Sway.

ETD is pretty much useless.

Front strut tower bar is useless, as is the rear.

Get the Hotckis sway set. You'll be happy when you can actually feel an improvement in handling.

Might want to go with something a bit more sticky, especially considering the other things you're doing, in an obvious attempt to improve handling.

I got a set of Ziex 912 installed a few weeks ago, they're ok, but wish I'd spent a bit more for something that sticks better. They seem to be much better than the stock Yokos in the wet, but not really any better in the dry.

You can feel a NICE improvement in handling with the TRD/progress bar and arguably it is a better setup than hotchkis sways. I love my trd, but would like a little less roll... so I was leaning towards hothchkis. However after going over all of the variables myself, talking with numerous nationals level guys in our autox club, corresponding with people like rick online and a very good suspension/alignment guy, I (and they) have convinced me it is a MUCH better idea to run a progress or trd rear bar with stiffer spring rates. Stiffer spring rates will get rid of a bit more body roll while not sacrificing suspension independence and not causing traction issues in the front while coming out of hard corners, especially in tight corners like on an autox course. Dan Gardner, for example, runs a Progress bar (I think his is custom.. a bit stiffer than the regular bar) in the rear, stock up front and stiffer springs last I heard. I am now wanting to go with SSPs or similar coilovers and stick with my trd rear bar and go from there. The hotchkis setup is a good one for most, especially if you dont want to run springs much stiffer than the TRD's.. but after autoxing the car for 2 seasons and really seeing what it needs, I will most likely not go that route.

Anyhow, pertaining to your items list:
Front strut tie looks cool... but does almost nothing on this car performance wise.

You will be better off with different motor mounts than with a tq damper.. much less vibration transferred to the firewall that way.

The progress bar is solid and is a bit stiffer I think. However, they are both great choices.

The 4 point brace will not do anything either in reality. Some say it prevents body roll.. but there is no physical way it can do this. Suspension is the only thing that can reduce body roll.

I own the 912's ... they are ok and that is about it. On dry they do decently. On wet they are ok.. on snow they absolutely suck ****. I owned Avon TECH M550's before that (can be had for the same basic price as the 912's) and they were a lot better. Better on dry, MUCH better on wet IMO and better in the snow. The 912's are not much of an issue to me since my tC sees the road very little in the winter, and I have another set of rims with summer tires (going to use the Star Specs this season I think) on them for autox. So for the spring through fall driving I do the 912's are ok.. but I wont buy them again.

the progress sway bar is good especially for the price because it comes with new end links...i kinda regret going with the TRD because of that difference. aside from that, as said above, the brace will do next to nothing... and the front strut is really up to you, since most people will argue its mostly cosmetic.

what he said. I have Falken ziex 912's as well but they lose too much traction for my driving. I probably won't buy them again. Look for stickier tires.

and go with the Progress sway
