Brake and ABS lights on. please help.
I was pulling into my driveway like anyother day, but when i tried to turn , i couldnt and i ran over some snowbanks. I had a friend pull me out, which crack my rear bumper a little( not a big deal), but the main thing i am worried about it that the abs and brake lights are on permenantly. I dont really want to goto the dealer bc it is an hour away. when i drive down the road, I realized my speedometer also is not functioning. I think these are related, but i am not sure. Right now I am trying to get as uch snow out from my engine compartment as possible. Does anyone know what i need to check? where the abs sensors and wires run? any ideas about what I should do?
Im not sure I posted this in the right thread, I apoligize if i did.

First thing I would try (sounds like an electrical issue) is to take the gauge cluster out and plug it back in to see if it is the connection for it.
The black bezel on the dash around it pulls out (it it held in by clips), just start at the ends and work your way around.
There is one screw to remove in the top of the cluster, then you pull it out of its clips by pulling on both ends.
Then remove the connector and re-attach. It could have crud on its connections that may be corrected by doing this.
Removing it takes only a minute or two, so it is an easy thing to try and check.

Well, you dont know what is wrong with your car or you wouldnt have asked. I gave you a quick easy thing to check up front, since I know of (through working on hundreds of gauge clusters on this car) ones that have acted all sorts of messed up due to dirt in the connectors.. sometimes not acting up until the car was jarred around.
My approach would be to check the super easy first (Which I mentioned above) and then start looking to see if a wheel speed sensor was damaged. If it were an 06 or older, I would say that would not be it unless the tire pressure light was on.. on an 07 or newer, then it could cause the other lights to be on and not the tire pressure warning.

it wouldn't hurt to check the cluster, engifineer is almost twice your age and probably has twice your experience with cars...
trust me, I'm more than twice your age and it's always better to check the easy stuff first (like engifineer said) so that you don't find later that you wasted a whole bunch of time going over complicated things when it was the simple five minute fix the whole time.
we're not trying to get on your case... just trying to help...
my (much younger) brother in law almost wasted more than a hundred bucks and a whole day on a trip to the dealer cuz his truck was hesitating, but all it needed was a simple five minute two dollar clean up job on his mass air flow sensor.
hope you find the problem... and hope it's not a big one...

That came out completely wrong, sorry. What i meant to say was I did what you said, and the same thing happened. that didnt fix anything. what should I try next?
Btw I really appreciate all of your feedback. I got a good part of the snow out, and am using a space heater to try and have melted the snow around the wheels.

When you get the snow out of the way, check the ABS sensors on the hubs, they may have gotten knocked loose or snow got in and melted and water got into the sensor.
Try that and let us know what you find. Pics would be helpful while you're in there...

take your car to kragens or autozone (or something similar in your area) and get them to check for any trouble codes you might have. they do it for free. some codes that are pending will not light up your check engine light. that might point you in the right direction.
I got the car into a heated garage and once it was all melted, I took it to toyota. I was in and out in an hour, the front right abs sensor was broken. they ordered a new one and everything is covered under warranty. Thank you for all of your help. It was greatly appreciated.
