brake question ?--tc--please help
anyone in the know---- I have a 06 tc that i have had exactly 21 months, I maybe drive it 10 miles per day. It only has 11k miles on it and is cherry. I seem to have a moderately loud squeal when the brakes are applied.. I live in a part of the US southwest where they're are bad sand storms (60 mph wind speeds) from March to mid May. I wash my tC by hand biweekly , making sure to spray water into the wheel areas. My friends tell me that this sand is making the squeal, could this be true? Or could this be the brakes just settling in? What are the normal life span of tc brakes? The car brakes fine physically, but the squeal is embarrassing. Please advise FYI-- i never slam or drag on the brake pedal.. Thanks
Usually brake noise on stock parts is caused by an un-bedded system. Try doing a bed in procedure like we have listed on our website here: http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_bedinstock.shtml
The fact that you dont drive the car hard may very well be why the brakes are making noise.
