Adding a random caliper may look nice but wont mean better performance. The tC has more brake torque up front than it needs to begin with so a larger caliper will not help and will actually increase stopping distances. As stated already, look into better pads 1st and go from there. Adding SS lines will also help to firm up the pedal and make the system more responsive.
For a normal day to day driver with some spirited driving, the tC has excellent braking compared to a lot of other cars. Even people doing some nice times in autox are running stock calipers and rotors. If anything, get some better tires and good brake shoes when you replace.
Hawks are supposed to be very nice, as well as Axxis. I will probably go with the Axxis Deluxe when I change mine. They are still geared more towars street performance, so they are not as hard on the rotors and do not create as much dust as an all out performance pad, but still increase stopping ability
upgrading your lines / rotors / pads will make a huge difference... no need to really upgrade the caliper unless you are really tracking the car...
STop Tech makes some great packages... the Stage 2 kit's from Stop Tech change Pads, Lines, Rotors, and FLuid with Motul RBF600... that alone will really improve your braking power and apearnce as well...
