Can a TRD RSB break suspension?
Hello everyone! Couple of weeks ago when I was picking up my rear sway bar (TRD) from the Toyota dealership the parts worker recommended I set the setting to street. He said that if I set it on the track setting, and I take some hard turns my, "suspension may break" I did not understand what he said about that, or which part of the suspension he was talking about.
I did much research online and did my best to learn as much as possible about the this rear sway and I could not find anywhere that mentioned a TRD rear sway breaking suspension on track setting, lol.
By the way I also have the lowering springs from TRD on stock struts. I am well aware that my struts are going to wear out faster than normal. So I got to hear what you folks have to say about "breaking suspension" caused by this RSB on track setting. I personally doubt it, but I don't only want to take my word for it.
Thanks in advance people!!

should of asked him what exactly would "break" lol I've taken some turns pretty hard with my sway on the track setting (also have trd springs and struts) and everything is fine. Also the TRD rear sway on the street setting is not much stiffer than the stock sway.
If anything would break, it would probably be the bushing mounts. Although I doubt they would... I'm sure TRD would have designed new mounts if they thought it was necessary. I went with hotchkis f/r sways because they are significantly stiffer.
The bushings feel sturdy to me though, and yeah I should of asked him. To be honest I was in a hurry to go home and install the bar. hehe. Anyways guys thanks for the reply, I am new to forums in general. Just thought I should of throw that out.
I've had the TRD RSB for quite a long time and I've put it to the test on the track setting... I've taken freeway on ramps at twice the posted speed without a problem... I have very sticky tires, slammed on coilovers, and it hugs curves better than a wet t-shirt. I doubt that anything would break, otherwise, the TRD name would never have made it onto the product.
I had a strong feeling that it was bull, just like how the other user described it. There are other sways out there that are stiffer than the TRD and I have not read any reports of them doing such things to the suspension.
Wow those Dezod endlinks look much thicker than the standard endlinks currently on my car. Do you think its worth upgrading if my rsb is from trd? Will there be any noticeable difference on strong turns?
There will be no differece. I suggest keeping the stock ones and keeping an eye on them. if they bend go for the dezod ones and if not you're good.
I adgree with Kanchi. The stock endlinks are the only things i can see that would go wrong on a rear sway bar and believe me if one of them breaks you will know because your handling will go to ____. Keep a eye on them like said before if the start to bend go buy some from dezod.
i've had my trd rear sway for about 2 years and haven't had any problems with the sway bar and end links.
kanchi what do you mean 97 camry endlinks are beefier, can they really replace the tc rear endlinks without having to modify anything for them to fit almost like factory?
