Default can't get an alignment on a 08

I've gone to 3 different places to try to get one since I put springs on and no one has "the specs." I don't really want to go to the dealer because they're only open m-f till 4 so I'd have to give up my car for the whole day and find another way to work. Anyone else have this problem/ know of a place to go?

no they all have told me they don't have the info in their alignment systems for a 2008 yet. I said that I didn't think it would be any different than an 07 but they won't do that.

You have two options:

Take it to the dealer and ask for a loaner, then you have transportation for the day

Just have the shop enter your tC under 2007, the specs will be the same. Good luck. Dont take no for an answer

Your dealer may not even agree to do your alignment if they didn't sell you your TRD's or if they didn't install them. Or because they won't align lowered cars period, which is what my dealer told me.

Call around for a shop that has experience with lowered cars. I went with Tire Kingdom for that reason, plus a warranty. Most speed shops in my town would do a one-time alignment for $99 but no warranty.

When you find a good alignment place bring in a copy of the specs:

https://www.scionlife.com/tech/manual/?manual=tc05_1616

(Rear alignment is in section 27.)

I did my alignment at school (twice.once a few days after I lowered it and a 2nd time once everything settled) under an 05 (or 06? I cant' remember..) and I had no issues at all..actually out of all the cars I did an alignment on at school the tC was definetly the easiest...

I should have printed out the angles I'm using..If I had that information I would give it to you to give to them but sadly I forgot to print

I got one done yesterday at a sears auto. I told to dude it was an 07 but when he put my vin# in the system it told him it was an 08 so that made me look dumb. I talked him into it anyway tho. He showed me the specs after it was done and it was way out. Anyone who thinks they don't need an alignment after even a small drop is crazy

Actually even a car fresh off the lot might need an alignment When the cars are coming off the assmebly line they don't exactly check the specs..they just kind of eyeball it lol

They do not eyeball it, they have the proper equipment to align thier cars.

however i have encountered new cars right from the factory that needed an alignment, steering wheel off center, pull, drift, etc......Why that happens? i do not know, but it means more money in my pocket :D

actually they do "eyeball" it.. what emperor meant was that they get it "within specifications", not "perfectly dead on aligned". and I agree.

Also, I think that chaining the car down for the shipping can definitely affect the alignment too. I've also seen Toyota Camrys (200 that haven't had their steering wheels installed straight onto the steering shaft. ouch!
