Default Car 2" lower, any tricks required to get over bumps?

Hey, I'm planning to drop my car with Hotchkis springs this weekend which will drop it 1.7" in the front and 1.9" in the rear (yes, the rear goes down more than the front, because the rear is set up a lot higher than the front, but overall, the car will be leveled out, or almost.) Will it require any special manuvers (sp?) or techniques to get across average size bumps? I know that I might have to go down sideways on steep ramps off of driveways. Anyone with experience with Hotchkis springs or any springs that lower about 2" down in the front?

Take them slow or run the risk of scrapping. Mine has 2" Gold Lines and I don't scrape. Any lower and you may have to do the side ways action.

I have an unknown drop thats more than 2". Ive only scraped on ONE speedbump, and whenever I back out of my driveway straight on (versus at an angle), I scrape the front bumper a bit. You should be FINE!

yeah I have about a 4" drop on the front of my xB which definately requires some sideways entrance and exit action from my steep driveway. Plus I just added a lip kit which sticks out a bit more than stock and then on top of that I'll be addding a full front splitter. I might have to park across the street from my house... whatever, its worth it!

It's just the fact that it looks stupid going sideways over bumps but down or up steep ramps/driveways is fine. But exactly HOW SLOW do I have to go over bumps? And another thing I need to get used to is probably not parking so close to the parking bumps at stores/malls huh?

I have B&G 2" drop springs. The front eneded up being 1.5" and the rear was like 2.5". To find out the springs I have are actually for an Echo. I like the look and I don't mind the ride, but you feel every bump and don't even think about hitting anything fast. So my suggestion to you is pretty much take it slow over bumps. Slow down before you hit them, try not to hit the breaks over them and kinda just roll over them. Also watch for driveways in neighborhoods where they have that curb like lip at the end. My front end scraped. Anyways good luck with your drop

I have the hotchkis on mine and so far i have not scraped on anything. My driveway has a med. incline to it.
I beleive the springs are 1 3/8 in front and 1 5/8 in the rear.

Good choice on springs first of all! I have the same and hardly scrape! But i do sometimes, just take it easy and yes take an angle! If you do that you'll be just fine!

As said above in any of my cars that I have lowered I always go in sideways (at an angle). and go real slow over bumps. Try to aviod pot holes at all costs.. Its hard to always remember to do , but after the first few scrapes you'll remember to do it..

just wondering like bumps.not big ones, just like little ones(say filled in potholes)just enough to make your car go up and down
needto worry or? just go regular
