Are there signs of indicating coilovers are near blowing or already blown? They are Tein SSP and have about 1.5k miles on them. Lately I've been driving over alot of potholes and some really broken roads and every pothole I go over I always get an really uneasy feeling. Those who live in SoCal and drive on the 10 freeway should know what I am getting at =/.

 

Take them off and push the shock body in and see if it comes back up.

 

push down your car to see it it bounces. the next best thing to do is dissemble it from the spring and push the shock in to see if they bounce back.

1.5K miles, wow they are brand new...hopefully everything is fine. keep in mind that SSP coils are pretty stiff so rough ride over rough pavement is more then expected.

 

How fast should the shock body come back up? I'm pushing them down on the TRD coilovers that I just got and they come up so slowly that I can't really see any movement at all.

 

It's not supposed to jump back at you that fast, so you should be good. Besides they haven't experienced any load yet so yeah. (jasper)

If they are blown check for leakage.

 

LOL. No, no leakage. I just always thought it should spring up quicker than they are. But the true test will be on the car.
