Default clunking noise?

Okay, i dont know where to post this... but today while i was trying to go somewhere, i heated up the car, but when i pressed the breaks there was a big loud clunking noise. the car only has 4400 miles, 08 TC. i'm taking it to the dealer, but this shouldnt be happening, should it? could it be a manufacturer problem? any ideas, suggestions? help!

also, should i pay the $100 the dealer is having me pay??

Does the sounds come from inside or outside the car?

get over the rotors oxidizing, it isn't something to be concerned about, when you use your brakes, they generate alot of heat, and when they get wet and dry on hot rotors, they leave residue behind. my rotors are sometimes rust colored when i walk out to the car, but then when i start drinving, and get out of the car when i've stopped, they are silver again.

now then, when are the brakes clunking? it could be abs pulse. otherwise, are there any other problems with the car when you actually drive it? is it pulling to one side?

do you live in a cold climate? could of just been something getting unstuck or whatever.

but if the dealership charges you anything for a warranty coverage, find a new dealership.

it doesnt pull to one side. its just the brakes that make the loud noise. i think everything should be covered under warranty, so i have to fight out the $100 they want me to pay. the car is new, i shouldnt have to pay for anything.

I do live in a cold climate... in Maryland.... all of this just makes me really sad... this car is my baby.... it sucks.

thanks for all of the advice.
