coilover owners, what have u done to make ur drop lower?
has anyone removed those collers, u know the ones that you spin up or down to adjust the ride height so that your max drop is lower then it is. i got the ss-p and i wish the front went down like just a 1/4 inch more. the ssp has 2 collers i guess to lock them in place but i think when they are dumped all the way down u dont have to lock anything since there are no more threads for the coller to spin down on. im just wondering if this is safe to do. i really do not want to get a new set of coilovers when i can just do this. so please post up. and if someone is going to say somthing like, "its just a 1/4 inch" it is a matter of tucking tire and i want to tuck tires in the front dammit! lol. thanks in advance.

Mines aren't maxed out and i have -1 finger in rear and 0 finger front.

how much lower can u go in the front? what tire size are u running?
i am running 245/40/17 and i am maxxed out up front, i have about 1/2 finger gap on my ss+p's
i know what you are talking about.. and by removing that locking collar, what happens if you ever want to raise the car up one day? how will you do it?
also, 05_trd_tc, how does maxxing them out make the shocks go out faster?? from the looks of it, the lower i go, the more the spring is decompressed??

from what i read on other boards it causes the shock to go out faster im not 100% sure.
But the lower u go also more bad things happen i.e. scraping
, more neg. chamber, rubbing, etc...

well mine are already as low as they go in the front and its been like that for a while now. im not as worried abt the shocks going out. i also have new end links for the front sway bar. anyone kno if thatll help?
the problem u'll run into is being able to turn the front tires... its way alot of trucks wit air bags ride with the front higher. if the front is too low, when u turn the turn turns sideways, right into the fender or wheel well. usually why the fronts are always a tad higher.... i had stech springs b4 and it was okay, i bought some cheap springs off ebay and cut some coils off, its -1 finger all around but when im on the highway taken and exit ramp going 30 or so... i start to turn it rubbs the inner plastic and sometimes more if the wheels are turned all the way. just something to think about too. i also have the rs1 lip kit and its literally 3in off the ground...looks cool but it scraps all the time, another thing is my exhaust sometime clings on bumps.

ill probably keep the same tire size i have now, 225/40/18. i see what ur sayin with the rubbin but it aint a thing for me b/c i dont have fenderliners in the front anyways. lol. and the offset of my wheel/spacer combo will be perfect so that i wont rub. and even if i do, the ss-p have camber plates built in, ill just add some negative camber so the wheels will clear the fender better and not rub. im going to just remove the coller on the bottom and see how it goes. i think i got some end links also for the front sway bar. some ppl have told me that thatll solve the problem b/c the sway bar susposedly hits the A arm when u slam the car. however i couldnt seem to find where the 2 were making any contact nor do i hear ne metal to metal noises while im driving.
