I have my car lowered on Tein S.Techs, but I am just getting serious about handling and gonna be redoin my suspension really good now. So my plans are to buy coilovers. But Im not sure what I want to go with. I really want fully adjustable ones. So I have been leaning towards KSport Kontrol Pro Coilover. But also there is the Tein SS-P and Megan Racing that I like. So, Im just looking for reviews between these to or any coilover system used on the tC, no sleeve style coilover tho.

Also, I plan to purchase the Hotchkis Swaybar set, and DC sports strut bar how do you guys feel about these.

 

hotchkis sway bars are great, the dc sport strut bar does nothing. save your money unless you just like the look under the hood.

 

Well yea I like the look. But Im looking for effectiveness. What is out there that you recommend that actually does something..

 

hotchkis sways are great and so are adjustible coilovers. i just went with trd because i don't have the time ore expertise to actually test and tune and dial in my suspension.

 

I have the SSP on my car for about 20k miles now. They work great. No problems at all. The pillow ***** allow you to adjust the cambers in the front. Install was easy, just swapping the whole unit.

 

Well at the moment, I think Im gonna decide to actually not got with coilovers and just get the trd struts. It might hold me back a bit in adjustability but, I wouldnt knowwhat to do anyways if I had fully adjustable coilovers...ill probably end up buyin some once my turbokit is done and on my car.

 

NO on K-Sprt & Megan coil-overs...Heard to many bad Crappy things...I have a friend w/ K-Sorts doesnt like them...

I go w/ the TEIN SS-P's......or JIC-Magic or Progressive coil-overs...

I'd go with H&R, but they don't have adjustable dampning.

 

Adjustable dampening on street-class coilovers is highly overrated and used primarily for marginal ride comfort adjustability rather than improving handling.

 

Yup...that's why I want them! to adjust ride comfort! I hear the Tiens are REALLY rough. Plus, thos H&Rs are pricey!

 

If ride comfort is an issue, then coilovers may not be a good option for you. And FWIW you can buy H&R coilovers for under $1000, if you want coilovers for less than that, they'll probably have "Made in Taiwan" stamped on them.

 

Yeah, I just wish I hadnt' bought 2 sets of springs and then a set of shocks when i could have just gotten coilovers. And I really don't know how much different the ride would be. I think my car rides great, I can feel the road, but my wife says it's rough.

I just need my front end to be a LITTLE bit higher then what it is right now. But I'm not gonna drop a grand to do it! I'll just fix my pipes.

 

what about the new TRD coilovers? i think they are sexy

 

I think they are rebadged K-sports, and do not hae adjustable dampning. But I would have gotten them instead of the TRDs when I bought my car if they were availalbe in '05!

 

does anyone have the tanabe coilovers? i hear great stuff about the company, but i dont know anyone that has them

fyi the H&R coilovers are awesome, and will be even more awesome once i fix the install error on my part
