Default Confusing Noise when turning...slow?

Ok, well my car began making a random noise yesterday. When I make a turn very slow, like around 5mph and turn the wheel about half way in either direction, I hear this popping noise from under the hood and can feel a slight vibration in my wheel. If i sit and park and turn the wheel I hear nothing. If I take turn the car at say 10 mph or higher I don't hear any noise. I almost sounds like a metal popping noise.

I have not been able to pin point it. I'm not sure if its my JIC coilovers or not. I would assume they would be making noises no matter what the speed nor turning radius. i was thinking bent front OEM sway or something but it appears ok after a quick check. I have no after market sways. The coils appear fine and everything is tightened to spec still. Nothing under the hood appears out of place. Endlinks are not bent. It's got me so confused.

I drove the car around yesterday to try an pin point it but had no luck. Coils drive like they did before and hitting bumps sounds no different. I only hear the popping noise when i turn the wheels half way and drive slow. If i take it faster the noise is gone. The weird part is i can feel it in the wheel when the noise happens.

Could it be something with power steering? Any ideas are appreciated!

You got some FREEPLAY somewhere.. are ur lug nuts tight? most likely not the problem, but to be safe. when you hear the noise, theres a thump along with it too. if you feel the thump on your steering wheel, the problem is from the front. if you feel it on your A S S, its your rear. if you can pin point which wheel it is, if it is the wheels, you may have to redo the suspension/coilovers on that side again.

but what ever it is most likely went loose causing more play and eventually all sudden a mount piece shoots through your hood.

i doubt power steering is the problem; i got an 05 and never changed the powersteering fluid, though i need to, still works fine.. i see your performance mods are just coilovers and wheels so most likely its one of them.

one pop or multiple, repeating pops?

If its the latter one, check your cv boots for any leaking grease

It's repetitive popping noises but only when I turn slow with the car in movement. I can feel it slightly in the wheel. When the wheel turns back I also hear the noise. It's not real loud but noticeable.

Lugs are nice and tight
All coil bolts are nice and tight.
Endlinks are not bent.
I'll have to check the CV boots for leaks next.

What has me pondered is the car still drives like butter with no noises at all at normal speeds.

^^ yeah it's sounding like the CV joints.

Also make sure that the bolts that hold the subframe in place are torqued/tight not loose. I had a tech posting about that. Could be the drive shaft moving there is a driveshaft carrier that holds it in place check that too when you check over everything

Also check the wheel bearings for looseness/play
