Couple questions about lowering my tC
I want to lower my 05 tC, but im worried about the ride being to stiff and scratching my fender(there are a lot of speed bumps in my school driveway)
If I decide to go with a set of lowering springs instead of a coilover kit will I have to worry about hurting my wheels or fender or anything if I hit a potwhole or anything like that?
Should I just go with something like the Tien Basic Coilover kit or is there another solution that will maintain a comfortable ride quality without breaking my wallet?

TRD springs - not low enough to bottom out and the ride is still comfortable. Even my mom said she enjoyed driving my car with the TRD springs and that says alot. She hated my lowered Honda Accord...
TRD springs give you enough of a drop (1" - 1.25") to get rid of the nasty gap, without making the ride TOO harsch. its a decent balance between a sporty yet comfortable ride.
as for bottoming out, potholes, ruining your wheels, well, that just comes down to driving thru those obstables with care, and avoiding potholes when you can. sometimes its just unaviodable, you're gonna run into certain ramps where you can crawl thru and still scrape the bottom.

I just put on some tanabe DF200 springs. It's a 1.7 inch drop in the front and 2.2 in the rear, which is more than the TRD ones, but suprisingly the ride is still pretty smooth. As for speed bumps, it's all about angles.
Another vote for the H-Techs if you are looking for a smoother ride. With potholes and speed bumps...pick up some new manouvering skills.
My tC is lowered on TEIN S-techs. The ride height when just staring at my car looks really nice. The ride is neither harsh nor smooth. You can feel every bump in the road. But it's not horse and carraige harsh.

Hotchkis or TRD. I personally have the TRD because I feel good owning parts made by toyota, and the drop was not all that much. I RARELY ever bottom out. It eliminates the gap nicely. In my own opinion, anything lower than the hotchkis is too low. I recommend the TRD
