Default Crashed my car

I realize this is probably stupid to ask.... but I crashed my car today on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica), and I can't really afford to fix it. My insurance won't cover enough.

I was slowing down for a curve when I guess I braked too hard, and hit a slick on the road. Lost control and the car spun out... it hit the sidewalk and skidded on the sidewalk about 40 feet. My front right tire is pushed back and the car won't move. The tow truck guy said he could see a cracked axle, cracked CVC boot (or something like that).

So, the questions are:

What is the worst case scenario? Frame, engine damage?

If I need a new axle, suspension, rim, etc, anyone selling these?

Any shops in SoCal that you guys trust?

How much of the money I don't have might this cost?

damn.... wasn't in my plan for this to happen.... the funny thing is.. everything looks fine but the right front wheel... plastics/bumper look fine. my neighbors didn't even know until I showed them.

maybe its just me, but liability is just stupid on any car worth more than a few grand. i save 350 a year if i have liability instead of full coverage, one accident and my whole saving is gone. even if it cost a 1k or so more it would be worth it.

if you cant afford full coverage or to replace the car if you wreck it you should drive something else more within your means

well besides liability only, i've got a bit of a track record with them from a few years ago when i took down a telephone pole... but that's another story...

if it's not too much damage, I'd prefer to go it my own on this one...

if theres anything wrong with the engine or transmission or basically anything under the hood, it could be totaled but if not, and its just body damage than just get a body kit

no.. body kit would be no go. The body looks fine... it's everything under that is probably messed up. My neighbors didn't see anything wrong with it until I showed them the right from wheel.

I had liability only on my last car (93 Civic) and I totaled it... the car was worth about 4k at the time... I learned my lesson on that one.

Call me skeptical, but this doesn't make much sense to me. Obviously I don't know the area or anything... but what's the speedlimit on this road? What kind of a curve? A turn to another road, or just a bend in the road you were on? B/c if you're slamming on your brakes enough to lose control for a bend in the road, something is wrong.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like we're missing something here.

wow.....call me an _______ but come on take it easy and slow down and learn how to drive. If you took out a pole before and now your spinning out just driving around turns you need to take it easy.

Liablity ONLY on a newer car is just not smart........

I hope you get everything straightened out though

bridgestone potenza re92.

considered to be a summer tire. so it will not perform well in wet. psh these dont even perform that well in hot conditions either...

but if you had the yoko's its even worse

Yes, it's a bend. I was going about 40 slowing down to 25 or so for the bend. And the pole, that was years ago... fell asleep at the wheel.... but it caused so much damage that the insurance company kinda made it too expensive for anything other than liability only.

Sorry, musta forgot that important part... yes... it was raining. And in Southern California, rain means oils slickening the roads.
