So I am getting the DC Strut Brace for my tC and I have a few questions for people who know about these. Are they difficult to install? Will I need an alignment afterwards? How much do I torque down the bolts on top of the strut tower? Any info will be much appreciated! Thanks!

theyre not hard to install at all
the nuts on the top can be tightened up fairly easy
it would be even easier if you have another guy help you holding the dampers since theyre heavy

 

Me and my boy installed mine in like 15 minutes. Super easy

 

Just did mine this past weekend. Cake. Of course I've installed a strut bar on a tC before and have gone through most of the steps required a few times to do springs.

You shouldn't need an alignment afterwards because it shouldn't be changing any of the suspension geometry (ride height and such).

As for the torque... well, I probably do things wrong there and don't actually torque most things to a specific number... but I think the included instructions should actually tell you. If not, just call your local dealer and they might be able to say.

 

Also, the torque specs should be in the Toyota repair manual for the tCs.
