dealers price????
does any one know how much would it be for labor charger to install srings and shocks. i can do the work my self but i just wanted to see considering i purchesed the extended warratee and now i think i am regreting
I was given a price of like $203 to install springs on my xA. I was more than happy to give that..........to Sears for a spring compressor, in/lb torque wrench, 18 inch 1/2 drive breaker bar, and four t-shirts. Oh, and had about $20 left over.
First and foremost....a little off topic to theblue...lovin the pee sprinkler.
Now back to the topic....HOLY CRAP, $535. They obviously knew you were having a problem with the flux capacitor and needed to change it out at the same time.

Dealerships will charge you book time to do the job. The book says 1.5 hours per strut assembly. That is 6 hours book time. Say their labor rate is $70.00 per hour, that would be $420.00 in labor plus the alignment. It would definately depend on their labor rate. It takes a good skilled technician about 2 true hours with a lift to do this job and about 3 on the ground with a jack and primative tools. It really is not too difficult to do yourself. Just make sure you have a good spring compressor, and take your time.
I checked my place....$550 plus maybe another $50 for an alignment. I know it's high, but these guys are Toyota/Scion factory trained techs.
Just keep in mind...you get what you pay for.

Had my TRD springs installed at Kearny Mesa Scion in San Diego, which charges $200 for the work, regardless of the time it takes them to do it. Price should be the same for springs & struts, as it's slightly less work work (one less step, as they don't have to remove stock springs from the stock struts). Even though I own a spring compressor and have done thw work on other vehicles, I thought the $200 was a fair price. Any place (dealer or not) charging more than $200 is a ripoff, imo.

Dealer was going to charge me $600 for TRD spring installation alone. Took it to a local tuner shop and got my TRD Lowerng Springs, Rear Sway Bar, and Injen Intake installed for $250 together.
ive decided that i was going to do it on my own. i bought a set of tein s-tech lowering springs for 168 and some change. now im lookin on gettin a set of koni for sbout 570. all for under 800 and no charge on install
NEVER EVER go to the dealer to get anything besides the FREE oil changes and warranty problems! I was quoted $500 for springs install, I went to a local shop and got it for $100 installed! then went to break check to get a lifetime allignment for $80.
so $180 for install and allignment. Awsome price!
