Default Do I need Struts or shocks?

K, I know this sounds like a dumn question but I dont know much about suspension so sombody please work with me.I have tein s-tech springs. But the ride is really bumpy I knew this was gona happen cause of the drop, but the struts or shocks w/e are on there feel really worn out.So do I need to buy Struts or Shocks? And if so what ones will work best?

How long have you been on them? Typically you'd get a lot of bounce with blown shocks/struts... not necessarily a rough ride. That would usually be because of stiff springs... which I believe the STechs are.

If you DO need replacements... look into the Tokicos... they're decent for the money.

id say go with tokico shock.

They're a little different in design. I believe our car has struts up front and shocks in the back.

As for Koni vs Tokico... there's a little bit on each here:

I don't know if I should mention this to you or not but . .. the Raceland Coilovers
are priced far less than what you are considering now.

There is a separate thread on this page for the Raceland.

^^Dude spring choice comes down to how low you want to go, TRDs are 1.25 all the way around while htechs are 1.9" front and 1.5" rear. Struts you dont need right away, eventually the springs will cause more stress and wear them out. I am going on 15k with trds and stock struts and they are fine. Koni's you have to cut part of the oem struts and install them on the konis so they are harder to install. TRD and tokico are both good, tokicos are more than likely cheaper but will perform just as well if not better. There are so many threads on suspension, just READ them and it will help a lot . I read a ton of threads before I made my decision

that bolded is decieving. its not all about just going low, if thats the case you could cut your stockers. keep in mind springs rates, etc. ive got htechs, had em for 3 years/50k miles. yea they are low, but they dont handle very well. stechs are even worse.

think hard about whether u wanna compromise handling for asthetics. i wish i had the money to go a different route now.

as far as koni vs tokico. ive got konis, i like the adjustability, makes a huge difference.

^^well for about 90% of the people on here, their spring choice comes down to looks, not how well they handle. If people cared about handling they would never get s techs but they are super common

for performance and better handling TRDs are the way to go, but people go for looks which is why stechs are up there cause they are the lowest sprigns offered for the tc. If you were to cut ur stock springs the whole geometry of the sprigns rate is completely ____ED making it very very dangerous to drive. people do it though, either heat up there spring or cut them for looks. any other springs offered out there are jus for looks and have horrible spring rates (except for H&R's)
