Does a Strut Bar really make a noticable difference?
I was just wondering from all you owners who have strut bars if you noticed a difference in handling after installing them? From my friend I heard that it would really only make a noticeable difference if you already have full coils and sways installed. That being said if they do make a difference what brand is best.

We have 2 threads concerning a serious discussion of them.
I started one - Searching "Rethinking strut", and it'll be the only result.
The other is titled "strut bar" and will be seen on this front page as of now.

But to directly answer your question---
Not nearly as much as sways or coils.
Definitely makes a difference in keeping the back end in check in a slalom, after you've reached a point where your back end rotates nicely
And it's been much more stable over potholes, feels more composed, and quieted a few sweaks. very subjectively positive.

tons and tons of threads like this and they're all the same. i noticed a difference when i installed my Hotchkis front strut bar a long time ago. my front end stays down in corners, before it would roll with the turns (front end goes up a bit). now it seems to stay planted with the wheels? so i noticed a difference.

they dont show a noticeable difference unless youre doing fast speeds in a long turn on a race track or something. if you want any big different a sway bar is the way to go.
i put on my CUSCO strut bar and noticed very minimal difference. maybe a bit more solid when going over a pothole or making a sharp turn at mild-high speed.

I have the trd front strut bar on my 07tc. I drove without it for the first three months. I felt a difference in cornering at speed, not alot but enough. I think its money well spent, but Yes you will get more support and possitive feedback from sway bars, both front and rear.
future plans ingals four point rear and hotchkis front and rear sways. maybe a c pillar bar to boot. I like my cars locked down.

i've never seen a strut bar make a drastic difference on our cars.
i would love to see what a possible 3 point strut bar would be capable of on our cars but coilovers and sways are MORE than enough with some nice tires.

it does and it doesn't. the first mod i ever had was just a GREDDY rear strut but i still noticed the difference. then i placed the GREDDY front strut and combined you could notice the difference of course until you get use to the car and it just defaults away from there. aftewards i resulted in trd sway and trd srpings as well. with h&r wheel spacers
