Default E-Brake and Drifting Question

My friend said that if you pull the e-brake in order to drift and such that it actually doesn't do that much damage to the car?...I find that to be a load of crap...cause it just makes sense that it would damage something...

He said you just need to tighten it or replace the line or something like that and that it was an easy fix if something goes wrong. This is something I have never heard cause I would never even think of pulling my ebrake but then again you do see that the drifters do do it...

Any responses would be nice cause I really know nothing of how to drift in general I can't afford what could go wrong.

Drifting is cool, but you gotta do it using the right car and not a tC.

I was just wondering if pulling the ebrake doesnt really cause that much damage which I thought it did

I would never drift in my tc...my car is made for looks not speed ...although it does corner pretty crazy

FWD cars (such as the tC) = not good for drifting...don't attempt
RWD cars = drifting cars

if you attempt to "drift" by using the e-brake in the tC...most likely, ur gonna get "wheel hop" and that's not good for the chassis amongst other components of the car. Just don't do it please

well.. the ebrake... just use it when you really got to.. i.e. ur in the canyons... and you cant make the turn as quick cuz ur FWD... then yank that beech up and slide alil bit...

if you wanna screw around... just know that the ebrake cable will get loose and also you will need to get new shoes for the ebrake... i think it totals up to 100 just for the OEM pads from toyota..

... i raced a couple of cars on the freeway and if i beat them substantially... i would throw some smoke up with the E... BUt thinking back... i shouldnt have done that so often... cuz my Ebrake is SHOT!!!

just use it to park bro... hahaha

Hey don't forget to get your Fujiwara Tofu Shop stickers! Those'll really help you drift the tC!

Suggestion 1: Find a new friend.

Suggestion 2: Don't use the e-brake unless you are parking or you have an "EMERGENCY" situation in which you need to stop quickly.

If you want to drift then go get an old RWD car (because it is required to drift) and tear that up. It'll be cheaper that fixing your tC.

when i used to go to the canyons, i never really pulled it unless it was a sharp corner. Even when i did i pumped it more than actually pulled it. All it did was wear out my pads. I dont go anymore tho.

DO NOT use the "e-brake" in an emergency where you need to stop quickly because you're just going to create an even bigger emergency when the rear end of your car uncontrollably slides out. It is for PARKING only. Unless you have a hydraulic system failure you're better off not touching the hand brake while moving.

What? Why do you think they call it an EMERGENCY Brake? No one ever said to ****** the thing if you're about to rear end some one. ABS isn't going to stop you from rear ending someone I can tell you that. You actually slow down faster with out it. I really don't see how the rear end of the car is going to slide out unless you are turning the wheel.
