Default EDFC install, wiring question..

So i finally got a chance to try installing the EDFC myself, i installed the motors with no problems, but now with the front motors, i cant figure out how to run the wires to the inside.. i know this is just easy for those of you who have worked with some wiring in the car (prolly the reason why DIY did not go further on this) but im just new to this. Any ideas? Pics?

I just ran it towards the driver's side, then ran it through the rubber boot. I found that zip ties really help too.

Ok i'll do it tomrow when its bright, i've been thinkin bout that rubber boot just above the brake pedal but just doesnt know if there's an alternative.. now i was just searching about installs and found out that there is also a rubber boot next to the ecu, now i can run the right wiring next to the glove box..

Now powering the controller, i was thinking of tapping the cigaret lighter (think it'll alright?), where did you do yours?

Ya, I ran a zip tie through the grommet, then zip tied the wire to the zip tie and pulled it through. Cig lighter is ok for Power.

I just had wires slipped on the sides of the rubber grommet (didnt punch a whole on the rubber) , now i was thinking coz its raining hard right now, maybe i need to put some silicone to seal the side where the cable pass through. I know some people here are running bigger amp cable through, you think i will have issues of water going inside the rubber boot?

not a good idea to run the wires that way.
best way is to go through the grommet.

i don't think you'll need to worry about siliconing it. not like your gonna put it underwater and see if its water tight...

oh yea, I used both left and right firewall, wires would be neat that way. I had everything installed few days ago just need to do some zip ties later today. I figured out it would be easier to tap the wires to my Headunit.. And sound when starting is awesome..

I was gonna punch a whole through the grommet but just didnt have anything to that time to make a whole.. hmm my only concern is that my wire is between the metal and the rubber with some pressure on it, would it be bad on the long run?

thats why it is not a good idea to run it that way.

plus that the hole sometimes will have weld slag or die-punch extras that will cut a wire.

some say yes, some say no.

some people go so far as creating a grounding ring or (like a boat) run all wires back to one point.

others say if the grounding point is clean and secure (and a good electrical path) it would be fine.

so i say whatever works for you.
