engine paint for calipers ? ? ?
has anyone ever painted there calipers with engine paint ? i was thinking bout doing this because i want to paint them orange to match my ksports and my valve cover. how well will the paint stick up ? i know its heat resistant for the most part. it seems durable i guess ill try it and post up some pictures.
Not sure about using engine paint. Have you thought about actual caliper paint? The eastwood company should have some. Here is there orange:

yea i thought about it but it seems like it would be near to the same. cause ive used it on motors before and it came out good and always has the shine look. i can also get closer to the orange of my ksports if i use the engine paint. im in the process of doing this right now so ill post some pics here in the next few hours.
If you do good prep work before the painting...sand calipers a little bit and clean the really good, it'll be fine for a while. But I've used engine paint on calipers before and it just starts to flake off after a while and then it looks really ____ty. If you could get a high temp clear then you should be set.
Last time I painted brakes I used G2 caliper paint...it was AWESOME...it put on a nice thick coating and over 3 years it NEVER flaked.

I'm considering doing this in a couple weeks while my stockies are getting powder coated
I have a SW tc and am getting the wheels coated white, and I wanted some nice contrast that popped out, I want orange, but the g2 paint itnt bright enough for me, I want something that will really catch the eye
I know some people use engine enamel, but my big question about it is how does it hold up to brake dust? can it be easily cleaned or am i better off going with a duller orange and it being made for calipers or should I go with the enamel and have it pop more
