Default Finding a smooth ride

I'm planning to upgrade my suspension to TRD shocks, springs, and strut bar plus Hotchkis sway bars and I want to know if this will reduce the bumps that I feel when riding over a bumpy road (not potholes but just minor bumps in the road). What should I look for when buying suspension parts to smooth my drive?

getting stiffer springs will only makes the bumps worst. The best way to make a smoother ride is to get smaller rims and bigger tires. This will create a bigger cushion between the road and the car

Besides fat tires though, there has to be a noticable difference in ride quality with better shocks and springs, right? (i would never get smaller rims and fatter tires).

if you want a better ride, i suggest stock springs with those comfort shocks from Pep Boys.. like Monroe or Bilstein.

Why the blatant generalizations here? I've ridden on the TRD spring/shock combo and it felt smoother than the stock suspension setup. Many other spring sets have been thought to make for a smoother ride as well, seeing as how many of the spring set ups are modest in their drop and also are progressive. The TRD springs don't offer a much stiffer spring rate than stock.
