Does anybody know what the rated torque is for the front struts? I had a problem w/ my front strut bar so I had to take it off ..and now I would like to put it on with the correct torque rating. I either over torqued them or they were defective.

To make a long story short - I was sent a free pair of end pieces so I now pretty much have a new bar. Ive been waiting for summer to work on anything new .....and here comes the good weather. Woohoo!!

 

how did you get them replaced cuz mine looks similar and thats hotchkiss right?

 

dang, that looks pretty bad. How long have you had it on? Ive had mine on for a while now with no problems. I dont know what i set the specs at tho?

 

^ it is - I took it off - told them it was 6months old (it was) and sent them the picture. This was all done via email. They were great people - I had a box sent to me a few weeks later with nothing but a sorry. They did a great job.

 

Im glad I took the picture though because i wasnt making anything up. I loved the product but it broke. There is no way im putting the new one on w/o the right torque specs ... i want to make sure its perfect.

 

the torqued specs for those 3 nuts are "38 ft-lbs"

Actually, it's 43ft/lbs after the strut bar is installed, 38ft/lbs as stock with no stut bar installed, but its close enough.
