Default groundcontrol coilovers

ok-i've seen that people say the groundcontrol coilovers suck. i've also seen people say that they're pretty good. i know that the springs are from eibach-which is a really good thing. i wanted to see if anyone actually has them and what they think about em. everyone who i've heard from that they don't like em/they suck-whatever, doesn't have them. if anyone has them and likes or dislikes them, i'd love to know.

My g/f has them on her Civic and they suck big floppy donkey dick! They ride terrible and are really bouncy. I wouldn't put them on even a go kart if you payed me. They dont help handling because they are really bouncy and they just plain suck.

hey, i think they work pretty good. i have them on my prelude and my integra. they are really good springs. i personally wont buy them for my tc. the only reason is because i hate adjusting them. if you have time to adjust the coilovers and set them right, i think they are more useful and better springs. i have no problems yet with them on my hondas, but i am just too lazy to adjust them, so i might just buy regular springs for my scion. oh, they are better for test and tune also. if your are planning to race the car the tracks, adjustables would be the best to go because you can adjust them to fit any courses and circumstance.

Ground Control are not real coilovers either.

I've read 3 pages of Ground control reviews and I've read not ONE helpful opinion. Everything is extreme and not many people like to back up their claims.

Everyone's who's sucked was either on a civic, accord, or camry.

Everyone's who's was good was either on a civic, accord, or camry.

Does anyone know if you can use springs other than the GC springs with the sleeves?

Yeah, they're not real coilovers. We got the point. But paired with a good shock/strut they might as well be. Some coilovers don't even offer damping adjustment which puts them way below these for me..

Yes you can use other springs, but they have to be coil like springs... I believe they have to be 2.5" wide springs so they fit snug with the GC top mount and GC adjustable sleeve.
You definitely can't use regular lowering springs with the ground controls.

ok here you want great advice lets delve into details....

1. you go ahead and buy poorly made coilovers when everyone tells you not to.

2. you install them and at the time you think all is well because you are lower than what your lowering springs settle at

3. a little time goes by and you think all is well but now after six months you have a horrible knocking noise every time you hit a bump in the road.

4. two days go by and now you absolutely can't stand the knocking noise so you get on the site and schedule to meet with someone to try and fix your crap

5. that someone will ask you what your set up is and you say i opted for the cheap ___ ground control coilovers

6. then they smack you in the face to try and knock some sense into your ___ and i quote " why the hell would you put poorly made coilovers on your car when you could have just spent a little more money, done a little more research, saved me sometime, all to say that at the end of the day your dumb ___ put these sh!tty coilovers on your car you are now going to have to replace them with what you originally wanted to buy, or beg to go back to stock because you dont want to deal with it anymore.

which leads me to my point...

why the hell would you put this crap on your car when you know not even a year later you will end up replacing them and now spend just as much for a nice setup...

1. Since everyone is credible now a-days, huh?

2. no comment? not relevant.

3. Have you had this happen to you? Or is this what you've heard?

4. ----

5. I'm pretty sure koni yelows + GC sleeve coilovers are much better than any full coilover system without damping force control. What's the point in buying a full coilover that can ONLY adjust height?

6. please keep talking and give more proof that you're a credible source and not some jackass...

You have no point. And boy did you save face with that post..

Jackass.

To the OP, I personally would not get those because of the mixed reviews. I'd get lowering springs or real coils with a little more positive feedback&reviews etc... but that's just me.

Don't bother getting GC coils. I had mine for a year and I'm fixing to get some Function Form coils. It's true, you'll end up upgrading later down the road LOLz.

Why are you fixing to get FF coils? What do you not like about the GC sleeve coils? Also, what struts are you running? Stock or aftermarket?
