Default h-tech problems

my wheels are 18x7.5 35mm offset
tires are 225/40/18
tein h-tech springs
am i suppose to rub?

and another problem is, after i got my rims installed i noticed that my passenger side front and rear was about 1/2" higher that the driver side, front and rear. so each time i hit a bump hard the front driver side rubs. im not sure if the car was unbalanced before i had my wheels installed. anyone know whats wrong and/or how to fix this problem?

doubt it. people here are running s techs and arent rubbing.. did you get an alinment(s/p)? usually the drivers side is lower cause if you dont have a passanger with you most of the time.. most of the weight goes to the drivers side not the passanger side...

i have h-techs with 18x7.5 +42 and i have never rubbed.. ever

so their must be something wrong with your car, or the way they installed your suspension

my car sits perfect, however it is lower than i thought it would be, but i like it

im the install guy over @ legend motorsport in cerritos...

i actually had a tc come in the other day w that particular problem.

the upper perch for your springs may not be situated correctly. they NEED to be situated a specific way, otherwise your spring will not sit properly, n furthermore, you may experience rubbing.

since we're authorized tein dealers, ive done a GRIP of tc with both Htech AND Stech.

rubbing should not be a problem if the install is done correctly

No rubbing here, and I run h-techs and the same wheel tire size combo as you. No issues at all actually.

With h-techs, you do not need a camber kit.

H-techs do not require a camber kit... and if you are rubbing with h-techs somthing was not installed right....

ok so I ordered my H techs off of ebay as well . I am having the exact same problem with the complete driver side being lower than the passenger side. I've had the springs installed for about 6 months and it recently started in the last couple months. I have sever rubbing when i hit bumps or take a turn faster than 5 mph, the front tire put a hole in the plastic fender well a bit so i had to cut off the piece rubbing on the tire and retuck the plasic abover a clip.

One of my questions to people who bought H techs for an authorized retailer, do your springs actuall have TEIN printed on the spring itself or do all the H techs not have anything printed on them. If i remember right my springs do not have TEIN on them nor a serial number but they did come in a TEIN box which I'm sure isn't hard to reproduce to put in cheap product.

How can you tell the knock offs from the real thing since I need to replace these with the same type so i can have the front rake to even out the car with all the extra weight i have in the back for my stereo system?

man i wish I would have seen those links before I bought mine 8 months ago. This time I bought them through www.JSCspeed.com so i know I wont have the issue again. Justin took care of me and being on Scionlife he extended me a discount which i then used to expedite the shipping to get them here before the weekend. THANK YOU Justin

OK here's the update now. I ordered a set of H techs from an authorized dealer this time, had them installed last night and the wheel gap was even all the way around. Then today at around 2 when i went out for lunch i checked and the driver side was down again by about half and inch or more. I also found out last night when I had the old springs removed that they were not knock offs from what I could tell because the serial number was printed parallel with the spring and not with the ground, and the TEIN logo was printed on and not a sticker..........so I don't think it's the springs at this point.

ANyone please help me!!!

i just came back from a shop that does suspension and bags and so forth and measured the vehicle on a flat surface. Found out that there really is no difference on one side to the other except maybe an 1/8 of an inch, what we did find is that my passenger rear wheel has a bit of a negative camber and the driver side does not so that would be why it doesnt rub on the passenger side.

I had SCION do the alignment to begin with so im not sure how that got screwed up but im taking it to a performance shop with a state of the art alignment machine and get the wheels as close the factory spec while still having a negative camber on the rear and front if necessary.

Ill post up what i find after its done but it should resolved the issue
