go with the hotchkis sway bars(front and rear), and a rear strut tower brace. I have the ingalls 4-point brace(very nice, but you can't put the foam tray things back in.

*the dealership can't void the warranty just because you put on a non-Toyota front/rear sway bar or rear strut brace .

my suspension set up:

Hotchkis Front Strut Brace
Hotchkis Front/Rear Sway Bars
Ingalls Rear 4-point Brace
TRD Shocks/Struts
Hotchkis Lowering Springs

= me very happy in the corners

I have no spring/strut modifications, and I've almost completely eliminated body roll with the trd rear sway. I've done springs on other cars, and I can tell you that the TRD rear sway has made a bigger impact than those other modifications on body roll. IMO, I like to keep as much independence on the front as possible (for road imperfections), and with the very neutral handling with the rear away, I want to avoid any other modifications that might upset that balance.

Hotchkis makes a front and rear sway...

And you won't void your warranty. Use the search button and you'll find all the answers you could ever want.

Structural braces make nearly ZERO impact on sway. Sway results from softness in the suspension. Actual body flex for the tC is in millimeters)... Any more and you're body panels and trim pieces would be falling off. Structural braces are more effective in increasing handling responsiveness and transitional handling. Furthermore, the slight flex will alter the suspension geometry (camber and caster) which decreases traction (tire contact becomes less than ideal), but none of that has anything to do with sway. This car doesn't generate enough g forces to really need bracing as a priority, as a means to correct sway. The first thing you need to do is to attack the problem at its source; the suspension. After all is said and done, consider bracing if you need more improvement. But again, a strut bar or structural bracing really has nothing to do with sway. And at that point, stiffer spring rates would really be the answer...

True race cars use ZERO sway bars. They eliminate sway by using extremely stiff suspension. Sway bars are a band aid and allow you to keep softer springs for road use... F1 cars have virtually zero suspension travel, but if an F1 car hit a pot hole at 80MPH it would probably lose control, which is why having some suspension travel for road use is important.

And the problem with going overboard with sway bars is that under extreme loads, it will cause the inside wheel to lift off the ground... Which will not make a devastating impact (as most of the load is carried by the outside tires), but it WILL decrease traction.

the trd rear sway is all you need for the street. if you autocross you might feel the need for more. i have the trd rear sway, hotchkis springs, and the dc sports fr strut bar and i love the handling of my tc. very little roll. my car will oversteer a little bit sometimes instead of understeering.

Depends on what kind of balance you want. . . Of course, the less roll, the better! But if you are the type of driver who prefers oversteer to understeer, you want to stiffen up the rear disproportionately. . . it basically comes to tuning the car to your driving preferences. But given a skilled driver, improving max cornering G's is always going to improve track times, but it also means knowing how to fully drive the car to the max.

My driving style? I tend to enter turns a bit too hot at times (driver error). A bit of understeer helps to pull the car around safely and allows me to exit full throttle in a nice gentle slide. With just the TRD, I am absolutely in love with the balance. I've actually driven a tC with the hotchkis set, but it wasn't my cup of tea. But it all comes down to preference. But like I said, roll bars are really a band aid.

you want less body roll the absolute best solution is front and rear anti-sway bars. i had the trd rear sway, and the dc strut tower brace, then i put on the hotchkis front and rear and it made the car feel so solid i noticed it as soon as i sat down in it.

doesn't have to be hotchkis, could be like progessive or any other good brand that makes front and rear sets.

^ agreed. I wouldn't even think of arguing with that. My point was more so about balance. But yes, the trd alone will still leave some slop in the front.

I actually just had some Hotchkis sways installed on my car. I still have stock springs and struts (for now) but already I notice a massive improvement over stock when taking exit ramps, turning hard corners, etc. Id say go with Hotchkis just because thats what I put in but choose a front and rear set that fits your needs & budget.

The first mod I did was the TRD rear sway bar because I couldn't stand the body roll. Get it, put it on, and use the race setting. Body roll will be just about gone. Do a lil drop and you'll be even better.
