Help w Suspension...

hey wsup ppl...

i'm kind of lost when it comes to looking for suspension replacements for my '07 tC. lately i've been noticing bumps are getting a bit out of control n figured it was about time for a hook up. ive got tein s.techs (i believe..they arent the drastically low drop ones) and stock suspension setup.

question is....

what is it that i can get that's decent to help out my suspension without it crippling my wallet?

while i'm at it...i might as well throw in i need a new brake setup too lol

any help is greatly appreciated...thanks

What exactly do you want to "help out" with your suspension? Sounds like you've got H-Techs if they're not super low. Is everything else stock? Struts? Sway bars? Etc?

How much would be crippling to your wallet? What's your budget?

You could get some Tokico struts for about $400 shipped on eBay. They're a good part for the $$ and are a direct swap for OEM. The springs are probably fine - so unless you've got a problem with the ride height, you can probably keep those.

If you want some better handling, try to get a good deal on a rear sway bar (they pop up in the Classifieds every now and then if you don't mind a used one).

As for brakes... do you do any kind of autox or track running? Or strictly daily driver? If it's just a DD, I'd say some blank rotors and OEM pads. Or if you want a bit more grip in braking go for some performance pads - don't bother with any slotted/drilled rotors - they will do NOTHING.

Last I checked dezod.com has some good brake setups ready to go for good prices - and they're good people.

i appreciate the help ack...thanks a lot.

as far as the suspension goes, yes, everything is stock minus a rear trd sway bar.

crippling my wallet would be around the $500 mark...so a decent product would be ideal...not something that'll last just thru the summer ya know?

with the brakes...yea, i'm just a day to day driver.

i'm checking out your links now...thank u

ok so i looked up the tokico struts...now would i need adjustable or not?

ack154 02-22-2010 05:48 PM

Nope. The Tokicos aren't adjustable for the tC anyway. They only come in the blue HP series for our car.

Here's what you're looking for (for the best price I know of):

once again, thanks

one more thing...will these alter how my car is dropped? sorry im such a noob

ack154 02-22-2010 06:08 PM

If you're using the same springs, you shouldn't see any change in ride height. The only exception I can think of is if your old shocks were blown and sagging a little, this might be a tiny bit higher. But that's unlikely.

Glad to help!

Oh - just a note on the struts from Dezod - just make sure you got all of them. They're priced separately there so you'd need one of the front left and one front right - as well as two rear.

SKEZO 02-22-2010 06:46 PM

oh my bad...i actually purchased the struts off of ebay, both front and rear for a total of $396.23...not bad at all.

i bought the rotors n pads off of Dezod...both saved me dough. just what i needed.

ack154 02-22-2010 06:47 PM

Oh ok... ya, those are the cheapest I had found. Someone else was looking the other day too.
