Hotchkis:
How is the ride? I'm sure the cornering is great, but is the ride bouncy on stock shocks? Is it any better with the TRD shocks?

Default rIDE?

A lot of people have installed these and I've seen threads on the ride, so I'm going searching here and on yoursciontc for some real life info.

Hotchkis, what are the spring rates on your tC springs vs stock springs?

Also, I'm assuming stock shocks/struts won't last long with this combo?
(If you haven't been there done that, please don't ask.)

Here you go.

Spring Rates:
Front - 175 (Stock 150)
Rear - 285 (Stock 245)

Hotchkis:
Since you didnt' respond to my question about the bouncy ride, I will have to assume that either you don't know, or that it is bouncy. I would imagine it is, with that much of a drop. But what I really want to know is if it can be corrected with the TRD shocks, or if you have any shocks in development.

read some other threads in this forum. the trail-brake/lift-throttle oversteer inherit to this platform would only be exaggerated by such a rake. sure it looks 'kewl' but that won't help you from going into the ditch.

Me telling you if it is bouncy or not does not really do anything. In my opinion it is not bouncy. The problem is that ride of any spring and shock is different to each individual. What I may think of bouncy, harsh, soft, etc. will be totally different for another individual.

As for shocks we always recommend upgrading to a performance shock, but it is not necessary.

We do not have any shocks in development at this time.

From my calculations from their numbers....

16 or so % stiffer than stock! I just ordered these springs and I'm going to get some adjustable gas shocks once the stockers wear out on me!

Did someone say Koni Yellow Top?

Well, so much for that great deal at HopUp racing. It turns out their charging $66 to ship here to Vegas. So after shipping, it would be about $441 for the springs and sways from HopUp, while it would be about $307 for just the sways from McGeorge or Sparks. That means a price difference of $134 for the springs. No cheaper then the tiens. So much for that. I'll just be getting the sways, not the springs.

My experience is that the ride is not bouncy, but bumpy when you drop the car that far. I don't have cars to test each product on to come up with stats so I am looking for real life experiences from owners who have done the mod. When I get back into work on Monday, I will try to find some info for you if you haven't found it through your own searches by then. Please let me know if you do find something. I wish I had more personal time to do research for other people, but I don't.
