Default hotchkis sway issues...

alrighty, stock shocks dropped on s-tech's. I've got a set of hotchkis sways sitting in the garage. i've seen people rub with stock shocks on a hotchkis drop which is a bit less than the tein springs. Because of this, I'm expecting some rubbing.

Now, i've read somewhere that 03 camry endlinks can be substituted and this would alleviate the rubbing problems. Is this true? What kind of problems can be had from using camry endlinks? I read somewhere about the camry being 10mm something and the tC being 12mm something.

anyone's input would be appreciated.

just thought that I'd ask.... Is the rubbing going to cause any actual problems or is it a noise nuisance issue that wont really affect anything?

I believe the rubbing issue had to do with the Coilover system not the S-Techs...

You'll be fine!

So i was planning on getting this set of front and rear bars, and then in the future going with tien ss set. Would it rub then?

I don't think there has been any rubbing with the Hotchkis springs... most of the reports were with some sort of coilover system.

So they will rub with tien ss, and do the endlinks come on backwards, or swapped?

thanks

The sway bar is rubbing on another part of the suspension in hard cornering or other situations. Basically, it shouldn't be touching anything else.

I have hotchkis springs, stock struts, and hotchkis f & r sways. My front sway DOES rub, and it has since day one. It has been reinstalled twice by different technicians at the Scion dealership, to no avail. Now the bushings are squeaking. It's about a week away from coming off and heading for the garbage.

I have hotchkis springs, stock struts, and hotchkis f & r sways and have NO rubbing, or noises, or anything else that is problematic. Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. Mine have been on for about a month and I do quite a lot of driving.
I LOVE my new suspension set-up and have nothing but praise for hotchkis!

Apparently Hotchkis had updated their sways with welded on washers in the front and rear like the stock sways, so that the bar dosnt slide to either side. Mine slid to the cars left and bent the sway bar from hitting the suspension arm so much. I had it on for about 2 months before I couldnt stand it anymore so I took it off and finally called Hotchkis. They told me about the update and theyre trading mine in for a new one.

That's good to know, and also quite disheartening since they haven't bothered to contact anyone and let them know.

I won't be going this route again in the future, that's for damn sure.

yeah I called them more then once on this same issue and I always got the same answer. "NO we are not changing the design on the front sway bar."
