i really want hotchkis springs buut......
I've heard about as much negative about them as i have positive. I love the drop they have but i've negatives about the quality. I know Teins are probably the best as far as quality goes, but the H-techs are too high and the S-Techs are too low for me....dont know what to do
Speaking from experience here... my Hotckis springs rusted like a **** and broke without me even knowing.
BUT... they have apparently changed their coating and they should be much better now. So as long as you buy one of the newer sets, I wouldn't worry about it. I still LOVED the look and the ride was decent too.

Ya... Hotchkis.

did the springs affect anything else as far as damange goes? and were they covered under warranty? And i know you run H&R springs now...how is that drop compared to the hotchkis
Hotchkis sent me a new set to replace them - but I had already gone with the H&Rs by the time I got them. Nothing else was damaged, but I was replacing springs and struts at that point anyway... but everything else was fine (thankfully).
Oh ya, the H&Rs are decent. I wish they were a bit more stiff... but H&R won't provide any sort of spring rate on them. They say they don't even measure it for their springs. So I'd still like to move on to something else (coilovers, maybe). But the drop is less drastic than the Hotchkis... 1.4 front and 1.3 rear I think. Where as Hotchkis is 1.7 and 2.0 I think.

yeaah... mine is rusting too (no snow over here) the look is okay. scraping is horrible at some cities. eating my tires..... tire rotation is required at every oil change.allignment at every 2nd one.

Also, why is everyone scraping so much? the front is supposed to be 1.7 and the back 2.0. htechs are 1.9 in the front, do the hotchkis springs sag?
ive never had any problem out of mine 3 years and counting scrape and sometimes get stuck but i love em swich struts asap though get it aligned with you in the vehicle! it saves alot of wear and tear! tire rotation should always be done everyoil change or buy buy harder tires if you buy softer tires like i did just go wider 2254517 for less align problems my tires have worn evenly with these springs
have had my hotchkis for 30,xxx miles, no rust or anything. get ur springs from trdsparks.con . and any lowered car can scrape, its all in the driving ability. my buddy on TRD whites scrapes every now and again. my camber is off on my driver side rear so im eating tires, but an alignment is a must. a camber kit is not
^ depends where u drive.
yesterday i was driving on a1a ( ocean drive) in hollywood the road was bumpy and i was traveling with 40 mph and i scraped the front at one point....
the only way to go there without scraping if i drive max 30 mph.

if i do get these springs, im gonna be rocking my stockies for now and still run my oem struts, i have 24,XXX miles on the car now and had my trds on since about 12,XXX miles, i should be fine with my oem struts for some time right?
and as far as my tires wearing out? will this really be a problem if i get it aligned once, i dont really plan on doing it every oil change lol

Hotchkis > Teins
Especially when it comes to springs, both H-techs and S-techs have a horrible reputation for Sagging after 10k miles or so, I ran my Hotchkis springs for a good year w/o any problems
In regards to scraping, its the name of the game, if you don't scrape, that just means you aren't low enough

you will se how it is.
all my tires started to feather. no i got the front camber kit.. the front is not feathering but its getting bald on the inside.. the rear is feathering like CRRAZY.. so i just rotated my tires.
i had falken tires , 512 and 452's and they were bald extremely fast!!!
now i got kumho spt's and they are holding up better.
