Default install non TRD parts voids warranty?

I was thinking of getting a set of TEIN S-TECHS for my TC but I was told by someone that installing any aftermarket parts non TRD will void my warranty. Anyone know if this is true?

First no such thing as voiding your warranty. The warranty cannot be taken away. However if it can be proved that the part you installed caused a failure then warranty will not cover the repair. Example you put s-techs on your car and 5000 miles later your struts are mysteriously making noise and leaking a fluid from around the shaft. Your springs which altered the suspension geometry would be deemed cause for the fault and therefore your struts are now your problem. I hope this helps clear things up. By the way if it sounds like I am being a dick I apologize, it is not my intent.

i think you put it very diplomatic.........people need to be more educated when it comes to modding, or dont do it.......
what is the differnce between a TRD and a Tein? one is not going to pad the bottom line at the dealer, if someone at the dealer told you this they are full of crap.......
most of the information that is said at a dealership is crap, unless its in writting and is policy then it is unreliable. i would say a good majority of people use after market products on thier cars, and dealers are mad since they can't profit off it so they bully you into thier products and there services.

Thank you for the info. I searched for "void warranty", must've missed that sticky. Thanks again!
