interest in custom brackets to fit porsche calipers
Though i would start a new thread to see what interest there is in brackets to fit porsche calipers on the tc. This would be the same basic setup that i had on my tc the only real difference would be a slightly larger rotor probably 325mm diameter.
relocating the front brake to the rear would not work even if a bracket could be made. The piston size in the front calipers is the issue, it is way too large and would cause a dangerous rear bias in the braking system. I do agree that it would be nice to have something larger to match a front brake kit. I was looking into this before my tc was totaled but i would have required a much larger front system and a larger master cylinder in order to use "oem" porsche components.
I had though of looking into using the rear calipers from the lexus is300, they are 2 piston fixed calipers stock, they might even bolt on, you would still need a custom rotor though in order to maintain the parking brake.

with this bracket you would maintain a similar to stock bias. As with other big brake kits you do increase the torque you front brakes are generating. And yeah all you would have to do is buy rotors, calipers/pads, braided lines and a few bolts
which rotors would be required with this kit (oem 5x100 units off another toyota)? would these brackets fit all Porsche calipers or only late models? since porsche calipers are made by Brembo, would other Brembo calipers (aftermarket Brembo or OEM Brembos) fit as well?
unfortunately there are no off the shelf toyota rotors large enough with the 5x100 bolt pattern, so there are a couple other options i am looking at. One option is the subaru wrx sti rotors they are 326x30 with a 5x100 bolt pattern. The other rotor is from the bmw e46 m3 it is 325x38 you would have to redrill those for the 5x100 bolt pattern. Both rotors would need hub spacers to properly center the rotor on the hub. I would provide this as well.
As far as other porsche/ brembo caliper fitment these bracket allow any caliper with 130mm radial mounting to fit the tc. This means stoptech as well. The only thing would be the depth the rotor needs to sit, each caliper will be slightly different.

I am making some changes to the bracket, I have decieded that the wrx sti rotor will be the best option, you can get them 5x100 bolt pattern and all you need is a small hub ring to center the rotor on the hub, I made a few of them today at the machine shop, it wasnt bad but I need to use round tube instead of round bar, machining 1,5mm thick rings out of 3" round bar is time consuming.
here is a quick update, I have 4 sets of bracket near completion, like i said before they are made to fit the sti 5x100 rotors which are 326x30mm. I somehow lost my drawing of the caliper dimensions so i should be getting a caliper in the next week or so. As for the brackets thy will come with all necessary hardware, bolts/hub rings.

price wise less, and you wont have to buy it all at once, Calipers will run you 200-600 for both just depends on what kinda deal you can find. rotors you can spend anywhere from 200-800, with the top price being for full floating rotors with aluminum hats. pads are gonna go from 50-250 depending on what your needs are. and braided lines 85 bucks. Im thinking around 200 for the brakets/hardware. So min would be around 850 total. compare this to the price of the trd (which you cant even find on there websites anymore) but they are 1100 ish and require a minimum 18" wheel, the brembo kit is 2500 and wilwood is 1000. there is also the stoptech celica kit which runs around 1500.
As for performance, none of the big brake kits will stop your car quicker, thats up to the tires. Now stickier tire combined with better brakes should help stop you quicker. One downside to going with larger brakes is the added weight. stock tc rotors weight about 14 lbs most of the 2 piece aluminum rotors are around 19 lbs so still heavier. Is this an issue on the street not at all. the benefit of going to heavier rotors is the added ability to absorb heat, which will come into play if you track your car.
The trd brake kit make about 45% more torque at the front wheels like wise the wilwood and brembo kits will be about the same. The setup i worked out gives you about the same increase in front brake torque. What this means is that you will be able to lock up your front brake easier or with less pedal effort, this will be true for any of the brake kits. as far as pedal feel my pedal felt stiffer and had better feel. i cant compare this to the other kits as i have never driver any tc's with them.

For fsae we do the same as you guys, michigan and california, we are also doing the hybrid series this year I think that one is in virginia or something.
