I searched How Stuff Works and found what you want to know: Stabilizer Bars.

The short version:
A stabilizer bar tries to keep the car's body flat by moving force from one side of the body to another.

Hey thanks man. I had a feeling I had missed something on that site, I really like it. Anyway, back to the discussion.

Not sure where the balanced utopian ride vs handling issue is at? I would like to corner flat without too much body roll, and not spill coffee in my lap driving to work. Oh yeah, and at the touch of a button...

^^^what he said. i definitely recommend progress. the problem with hotchkis is the front bar rubs on lowered cars. if you want to wait then there will be more coilovers on the market soon... b&g and hks are both coming out with theirs shortly. and i know b&g's sway bars will follow right behind their coilovers. i currently run a test set of b&g springs which are 2.25" drop. i love them but they are super low!!

so if you want a height that you are going to feel comfortable with and that you can set to what you want, then get coilovers. currently tein, progress, and tanabe are the only ones out right now. i havent heard anything about the tanabe ones but tein and progress are both good. also like i said b&g and hks are both releasing their coilovers soon. good luck!

Id get some of those setups just the prob is i dont want a huge drop i want want something between 1-1.5 jersey roads are no joke. I know wayy to many people with cracked bumpers and bent rims. People that are competent drivers.

If the hotchkis front bar has a rubbing issue on drops will every front bar have that issue or is that just the design and i got somethign to look forward to with eibachs?

Also I know keep asking this but I am very new to suspension. How good would be the trd shocks with spring and front and rear sway bars says eibach? for stiff ride for daily driving and occasional autocross. Or are the trd springs and shocks not worht the money and I should get coilovers because they are more stiff. Rem. that for me I will most likely will not be using the highet adjustments or the damping adjustments of coilovers simply because I will not be going to autocross often enough. I am looking for something thats there doesnt require maintance. So Iam just looking for something thats stiff for the road. Iam jsut wodnering if the springs with shocks are worth the money for the stiffness or are coilovers more stiff and better on their setting thaqts comfortable for the street but i dont plan on changing it back and forth when i try autorcrossing.
