Default LOOKING TO DROP MY TC, BUT IS THAT ALL?

Looking to drop my tc. I was going to purchase trd springs and have my mechanic install them. I think I read some where that I need to buy coils, shocks, and some other stuff in order to drop it? Is that true?

I just want to drop it just a little. Nothing crazy!! Toyota by me are giving me the trd springs for $180. Can I just install the springs and keep it moving? Or do i need to buy alot of other stuff to drop it?

PS
This is my first mod....I had the car since nov 2007, and it has 35k miles.

If it barely drops my car, is it worth the $180? Is there another brand that would give me a good drop but nothing to crazy?

there's lots, depends on how low of a drop you want to go. check out the buyers guide on the top of the page that's stickied and you'll see all the types of springs that are available and how low they drop. There's also a thread with pics of lowered cars, check in there for pics of the drop you want.

depends what you looking for.. trd doesnt drop too much but still noticeable and look better than stock.. some ppl go with bigger drop and they might have problems.. like toyota refuses to do anything with the car because it too low ( they sent me away last week, they couldnt put my car on the alignment machine)
or tires will wear faster.. you will scrape everything up, the ride will be a pain compared to the soft stockies.... etc etc etc
i got hotchkis.. 1.7 and 1.9 drop.. my bro bought a tC but i wont let him get a bigger drop than 1.5.. so most probably he will go with the TRD's...

^Is there really a need for a rear sway bar and front strut bar when dropping the tc?

the rear sway bar yes if you place it on race setting, you will have less bodyroll and be able to take the turns sharper. as for the front strut bar alot of people say it does nothing but it makes your steering wheel stop wobbling like driving on the freeway you can feel it moving so it becomes abit stiffer than before, i felt the same when i installed it and like how it looks too.

i have the trd springs but not satisfied, so im getting coilovers. if your going to continue modding your car, i suggest you save that 180 and buy something better.

<------- Is the odd man out.

If your car is a DD, and you don't want the ride to suffer, then TRDs are ok. I have them on my tC and
love them. The drop is subtle but you do not have to switch out your struts with them. Anything beyond
2" I would swap out the struts/shocks at the same time as the springs install. If you have 18s, then the
drop is more noticeable than with 17s. Needs pics, let me know.

P.S. Save your $cril and don't get a front strut bar. They are more for looks than actual performance.
