I was considering getting the Koni Yellows when my stock shocks go, but I was going to keep them at the softest setting. That way, I'll still have a smooth ride but my lower springs and Hotchkis sways should take the lean out of corners.
What do you think? Do you have sways in? How is your cornering with the yellows on soft?

get the front and rear (4point) strut bar and your sway will be like night and day.

I have the S-techs on stock struts and they bottom out on the front. It seems to me the struts have a functional max of 2" drop. Since the S-Techs lower the front 2.4", I am gonna wait until the struts blow out and then switch to coilovers. I am really tired of everyone using my car as a test vehicle for what they think will work - nad best of all... USING MY $$$

Eh, I don't know.
It corners pretty damn flat as it is, and the front struts are so close to the firewall that I don't think the strut brace will do much.
I don't know about the back. Any good ones out that don't steal all my trunk space?

My front drivers side blew on tein S techs but I expected this to happen anyway the ride is still great with the blown shock i plan to replace with yellow Koni's

I still disagree with the rear strut tie. That has NOTHING to do with body roll at all. Body roll is caused by independence in the suspension and has nothing to do with bracing the rear of the car. I know that some think they feel a difference.. but until I see some real explanation (which the few from ingalls that posted on ystc could not give) of how it supposedly stopped body roll I will never believe it. They were also called out over there to send one to someone for testing.. last I heard of them. They seem to mis the whole concept (As many new "tuner" companies do) of what causes body roll. It is simply adjusted with a sway bar. A strut bar works to hold the alignment between struts in check in a hard corner, thus holding your camber in check to provide more traction.. that is it. Over on YSTC the even claimed it would prevent body TWIST.. simply geometry can tell you it wont, and anyone with any experience in fabrication or construction could tell you it wont do that either. But to each his own I guess.

thats the setup I want to get, how hard was it to install the Koni yellow's? I was heard that you have to cut to get them in.

Well, I blew my front driver shock out by hitting a shreded semi tire tread on the freeway.
The insurance company tired to say it blew cause of the springs and dint' want to fix it, but I said I only had them on a week, and it's ironic that the only shock that blew was the one involved in the accident.
Then they tried to remove it and busted off the top bolt, so they ended up paying for a new shock anyway!
The moral of the story? You are more likely to blow a shock with the lower drop, but as long as you take it easy on bumps and stuff, you should be fine. I probaby woldn't autoX with Hothckis and stock shocks.

Default stock shocks how long...

Hey guys..sorry for the delay in response...when i first put on the koni yellows and the lowering springs...the ride was alot smoother then stock but the body roll in cornering sucked!! i tightened up the front struts and it handled better...as for the sways..i don't have anything on yet...i am still considering if im gonna order both front and rear or just the rear...i'll keep u guys posted on how it rides....

I am on Sprint Springs and stock struts. I must say, sometimes i feel I am just waiting for something to give. The Sprint drop is a bit more than advertised. Plus I lug a 15" L5 around.
No response from the blown part. all spring recoil= doink doink, and dont get on the freeway with one....

well, when mine blew, ididn' even know it. it drove fine. no knocking, no bouncing. however, whenever I would accelerate from stop or brake hard, it would creake
They also said when they put it up, they could spin the spring around with their hands cause there was no shock pressue on it. And there was some leaking fluid, brown I think.

I have TRD springs and stock struts, I am looking to change them out to the TRD package as I have noticed some change in the ride, the car does not have nearly the stiffness in the ride that it once had.
