Default lowering springs

I'm doing some research for some lowering springs for my RS3 and I was wondering what everyone else's opinions are and which are based for my RS3 with the kenstyle body kit.

I live in vegas so that means that theres a lot of parking garages and parking lots with a bunch of speed bumps. Sometimes its too hard to angle the car over a speed bump because the lanes of some parking garages/lots are too narrow. I'm not too worried about the streets here but there are some cases that theres a ____ load of construction going on.

I really like the TEIN S-Techs but I'm kind of worried that it might be too low. I'd like to get anyone's opinion and suggestions. Thanks

stechs are a really low drop soo ur gonna have to be careful going over the bumps and dips.. the drop actually hurts your handling. go with Progress it is the perfect drop for the car.

if s-techs are too low you can try the h-techs

H techs are a very nice moderate drop. I dont think you will have a problem with speed bumps, its more of the ramps that will get you.

I have TRD drop with rs1 lip, only problems are steep driveways or parking lot ramps, i either find an angle or go around lol

im using coilovers, this wont really affect your talk on springs but going sideways over speed bumps for me is not a problem, the bumper clears just fine...the problem i face is, my car is so low, the speed bump hits the frame under my car when i go over it.

if you get S-techs or H-techs, youll have no problems what so ever really. as long as youre not doing like 50mph going into the parking garage ramp or something itll be fine.

i have the trd springs and they havenet settled yet and its a 2 finger gap in the back and 3 finger gap in the front. but i know s techs are supper low. the guy who installed my springs had s techs on his tc and the back tire was tucked. he also said that after a while of having the springs its bad for the stock shock or something cuz its so low.

^ plenty of people have stechs with stock shocks and for a long time. just depends how crazy you drive and how the roads are. but going that low i would definitely get some new struts/shocks.

People tell me that when the S-Techs really settle in they have a 4 1/2 inch clearance in the front. I'm really not that sure if thats a lot or if its not. I've seen a lot of tCs with s-techs and other various springs and keep hearing either go s-techs or coilovers. I like the h-techs also but I want a 2inch drop in the back cuz my rear looks like it sits super high from the rear but also a 2 inch drop in the front at least. Is there any springs out there that does a 2 inch all around? and also one thing i forgot to ask is are aftermarket springs going to void the warranty?

^^ I've been running Hotchkis on both of my tC's and they give a nice drop and good handling performance too. You can run them right over the stock struts if you want.
The Hotchkis drops 2" front and 1.97 rear. So with them settled I have a 1 finger gap front and 1.5 finger gap rear. I can get over most things taking it easy just like the rest here

Gives basically a 2" all around drop. Handles very well, very nice lowered look, and not quite tucked so no worries of rubbing.
One of the best deals I've seen is through TRD Sparks on the East coast.

saikou.... I've never heard of any quality aftermarket springs voiding the warrenty. If they are installed properly it doesnt void any part of it. Trust me, I checked back when I put them on my first tC.

i have s techs with oem lip....its not as low as people say. however not the rite choice if you have big performance plans for your tc in the future or if your going to drive it hard... there more for show. im savin for progress coilovers now because its time to mod my car the rite way. make a good decision and dont waste your money

i have an RS3 and i am in phoenix AZ. i have the same humps and dips as you. i've driven the tC in vegas before too and i am fine on my drop.

Tanabe DF210 - 1.7 front/2.2 rear

hopefully that helps you out with your decision.

Yeah... that's very close to the drop I have on my Hotchkis and it works just fine as long as we're careful how we drive with a drop.

S-techs are a bit of an adjustment from stock. I installed at around 12k and stock shocks wore out around 29k with aggressive driving and autoxing. They're not the best for performance, but they're better than stock from my experience at the track. Replaced the stockies with Tokicos and no problems since.
