lowering voids warranty
void is NOT the word to use. HONOR your warranty for your suspension they will NOT if you use non-TRD springs, something goes wrong, and if service can trace the fault to the non-TRD springs.

^ I'm not sure if that's the best wording for it either. At least the "non-TRD" part.
Here's a scenario that should explain it.
If you install springs on your car (Hotchkis for example), it will lower it. But you may still be using your OEM shocks/struts. If your OEM shocks or struts blow out, they could likely determine it was the non-OEM springs that were the direct cause of the problem. So they would not replace your shocks/struts under warranty.
There is a thread in the Maintenance and Car Care forum stickied for this. I suggest you read it.
