i heard from different sources Megan coilovers are made by the same company who makes APEXi's coilovers. so i guess if that company ever makes one for the tC, Megan will release it under their name too. i'm referring to full-body coilovers, not the sleeve types.

I heard the exact same thing. They wont make it until there is more interests. They focus on high quality suspension, so they won't make it for the TCs

Maybe we should start a poll and I can talk to Steve at Megan Racing there (R*D guy) and see if he can design a set of coilovers for us? There coilovers are very high quality

Just wanted to update Everyone on the Megan Racing Coilovers, first off I spoke to Steve and after a long talk I convinced him to design a set of Coilovers for the Scion TC. I noticed on the forum someone said they reuse Apex dampers, I can assure you they are not apex dampers and Steve personally said himself they do all the R&D themself and don't rebadge other companies products. Well everyone there you go, lets a get group poll seeing who wants a set of Megan Coilovers for the TC, I sure do.

Default Price is Right?

Aright... here's the way it works. The dampers for the TC will be the Street Series. And those MSRP for $1,050.00 But if you notice that most people online kinda have a low price that they all have? Well it's cause we have to regulate the price. And it's going to probably be the same all things considering. So look for the lowest price you can find the Megan Racing Dampers... and that'll probably be the best price you can get them for afterwards.

Motorsport_TC KNOWS what he is talking about and he is taking part with the design of the dampers. He will tell you the way they ride, feel and install in about... I dunno... 45 days or so. After that.. it'll be another 45 days or so before you can get them on the market.

What would be good.. would be to POLL WHAT SPRING RATES YOU GUYS WOULD LIKE TO SEE... so I can get a general idea.

And don't ask how I know all this info...

Yeah I can't wait to tell you how great the coilovers are gonna be, I'll start a new thread for what spring rates the majority would like to see. This is a chance for the scion community to tell Megan what setup the TC community would like to see in coilovers instead of just using the set springrates that are already out there.

Default Design within the Community...

Designing the dampers is fairly easy for the most part, after you get used to it, a damper is just a damper when it's on the drawing board. But the hardest part, I would say anyway... would be figuring out what feels right for the car.
I have a general knowledge through the study of physics, weight distribution and weight transfer what a certain spring rate will do for a car that has a different distribution. (50/50, 45/55, 60/40, etc..) And then from there I can go on... and then I can give it a general range within the weight of the car. Heavier cars need heavier springs, of course. But then there's thinkin about what kind of sport this is going to be used more for.
Drifting needs more of a weight transfer to lose traction. Grip driving needs to plant you and do the opposite.. resist weight transfer. So then it starts getting down to opinions at that point. What the car is best for... what's comfortable.. what's not.
THAT'S where I come to the community. No one knows your car like you do... and so I figure you guys are the best candidates to let me know what YOU want. If it makes sense within design characteristics.. then cool, we'll try that out.

SO LET ME KNOW... Spring rates... tell me.
