Default most beneficial (performance) suspension mods ~$500

What is it? I'm thinking swaybars, but i was just looking for others opinions.

I'm wanting to spend about 500 on my suspension and i don't care about ride height. I'm also trying to do this without getting an alignment, but that isn't a must

hotchkis front and rear anti-sway bars. they will make a huge difference in the cars handling.

your best option is to get Hotchkis Sway Bar.

any mod with springs or shock will need realignment.

The most beneficial (performance) suspension mods ~$500?

Tires. Sway bar, spring, and damper upgrades mean nothing without grip.

wel, tires are a great suspension upgrade, but they are more of a consumable wear and tear suspension upgrade. not something that you can enjoy for a tens of thousands of miles like sway bars.

ya, and a good excuse to upgrade when your tires get bald from carving corners anyway.

A rear sway bar and a good set of tires will make a significant difference. Once you start going with lowering springs and coilovers you'll need to adjust camber and get a proper alignment, this will make your car handle very well but it will cost a lot more then $500.

im not wanting to track this car or anything. just make it handle a little better for that fun to drive feeling. new tires will come when the stockers are burned through but im reaally not in a hurry to do that.

TIRES

You can invest 5000000 dollar into your suspenion, but if your tires cant hook up, then its no point.

i realize this. tires are a wear item though. they will be replaced when the stockers wear out, as i stated before. im looking for non wear item investments.

Which is a better option:

1 Hotchkis Sport Sway Bar + RED TRD lowering springs

or

1 Hotchkis Stage 1 TVS System

And if it is the TVS system what type of drop does it have?

either one will do fine, it is more of a preference in how low do you want to go. 1.25 inches, or 1.7 inches.

also, the trd springs color doesn't matter, they made them in white firs,t and now they make them in red. no difference in drop or performance.

me personally, i choose the trd springs because i don't want to worry about scraping on steep approach/departure driveways, and because they came in a good package deal from www.trdsparks.com.

I'd like to stay around 1.25" drop so the TRD springs look the way to go.

Now on to the sway bars. It seems TRD only has a rear sway bar while Hotchkis has both front and rear. I know usually the rear sway bar is the one that you want to upgrade at a minimum, but am just getting started with the tC and would like more opinions on that.

it doesn't matter. get tires. there's nothing better. once you spend $1000.00 on tires you will LOVE that little car, even with the stock suspension. BUT, since you said you only have $500, get the rear AND FRONT sway bar from hotchkis, lots of fun, and if you still have change, get the rear strut bar from ingalls. my favorite.
