My hand brake light keeps coming on.
For some strange reason, whenever I hit the gas semi-hard to hard and the car's nose gets more than a couple inches in the air, my hand-brake light comes on. Anyone know anything about this, or have a DIY? I'd rather not have to go to the dealership cause I've already had to get a brand new headliner because of them.
I kept getting the light. I got mad at seeing it come on all the time so I went to the dealership and picked up a bottle of brake fluid and poured a little bit in and I was good to go. No brake light anymore. Now all I got is the tire pressure light coming on because of my semi-overfilled tires.
And now when you replace your pads, all that extra brake fluid you added will be all over the garage floor and anything else under the reservoir
Just be sure it doesnt get on painted areas.. or they will no longer be painted. Brake fluid is one of the nastiest substances on earth. If the pads are getting worn to the point of causing the fluid to be that low, you should just replace them. If the pads are worn, then you have a leak... and that needs to be fixed obviously.
When you change your pads now you will need to suck some of that fluid back out of the reservoir to prevent run over as I described
