I lost my instruction paper to install the DC Sports Strut Bar. Can somebody tell me how much is the torque ?? Thx.

I just checked my directions.....(torque: 6.0 kg-m, 43 lb-ft)........hope this helps...

Make sure you lift the front chassis for preloading, before you install the strut bar or you wont gain the full added benifits of having this mod.

 

if you lift both wheels off the ground, then take the top 3 nuts off the strut, won't the strut fall down? what is holding the strut up high enough to expose the threads on top?

 

Good question, I will rephrase my statment better. You just need jack up the front end of the car for preloading the chassis.

Do you mean to jack it to a point where ur tires can rotate but little or hardlt any room for the wheels to fall down?

 

Yes, basically as far as you can while still being able to attach the strut bar. Just enough lift for pre-load.

 

Thx guys. One more question bout the third nut, do i tighten it using the 43 lb of torque too?

 

Sorry to recall an old thread guys, but doing some searching, I've come across a question:

Normally, the top mount on the strut is to be torqued to 38 ft lbs. I recall this from doing the springs. When installing the dc bar, it should now be torqued up to 43ish??

 

maybe a BUMP is in order, who knows?!

 

One more BUMP, someone help me out here
