Need really good suspension advice.
OK...I am not a ricer...in fact I'm pretty old, but I like the tc for its looks, price and decent performance. I do own a really fast car...its a toyota MR2 turbo. It used to be my daily driver, but now it only goes out on special days...I have a gen 3 jspec turbo motor in this thing and it hauls.
Back to the Scion...I am a mature driver...not interested in bling or rice...but I want to improve both the ride and handling on my car. If it is lowered a little , that's OK. I want a tight , firm ride, that is not harsh. I read in another thread about H&R springs being really good for what I want...anyone else have experience with them? Where do you get them? Do they work with the stock shocks? I feel the Scion needs improvement in the ride and handling dept.
I really like the stock wheels on this car...would it be adviseable to move them outwards a little with a spacer? I also may want to put slightly wider tires on them...maybe 225's...has anyone done this yet...I am not interested in larger wheel size...just a little wider tire on the the stock rims.

Ive heard good things about the TRD suspension parts and will be installing them on my car in the next few weeks. It includes the TRD shocks, springs (1.25" drop) and rear sway bar. Its available in a package deal for just under $700 from www.mcgeorgeparts.com . The TRD springs are made by Eibach so you shouldnt have to worry about a lack of quality with them.
i cant tell you much about the h&r, but i will give you my review on what i have
trd springs (stock struts), nice drop, give it a more agressive stance, handles better in turns, ride isnt real harsh
trd rear sway bar... wow... what a good use of $100. i have my set to the race setting right now (inner hole), and it stiffens up the back end alot... very good use of money. once winter hits, i will move it back to the strret setting (outter holes)
dc strut bar.... its bling.... i might help the structuer of the car, but i didnt feel any suspension improvement from it
