Default Noob Sway bar question

so Ive searched for info on sway bars and im stuck between either just getting the trd rear sway bar or actually getting the hotchkis front and rear sway bar.

obviously both would be better, but some members on SL say that the rear is good enough for a DD and that both would be good for autoX.

So my question is will having both front and rear sway bars will be too much for a DD, or should I just get the better handling?

I dont' wanna back track and think, "man I should have gotten the front one too!"

looks like either save some money get some better handling, or spend more money and get even better handling.

any info would be greatly appreciated! =)

depends on the road you drive daily, the trd seems good enough to me.. many autocross with it without problem. I would go hotchkis but i took into account that i upgraded to coilovers so it might me too much for daily driving

I have just the rear, and while I sort of wish I kept the front and installed it, I don't regret selling the front. Putting the rear Hotchkis without the front results in a very stiff rear end, and has a tendency to go into tri-pod mode and oversteer. Having the front one balances it out, but I just couldn't justify the extensive install for such a little gain.

Im not trying to change your mind or anything but the front install is a royal pain. You have to lift up the front engine mount. shops charge alot of money for this and to do it yourself would be almost impossible..you really could save some money by just getting the rear. Its on you tho.

I installed both my front and rear by my self with out any problems. Just take your time and everything will go smooth. If your not doing this on a lift I would suggest getting a friend to help you with it though.

If you get both, rear on the stiffest settings, front on the softest setting. It's the optimal setting for sway bars. Any softer in the back and you'll get understeer (with the front upgraded) and any stiffer in the front and you'll get understeer.

Front install is not nearly as bad as some people say. I got it done on jackstands in under 3 hours. Just take your time.

no there is a front sway bar that goes under the car. Hotchkis is the company that sells them together as a package.

false, you have to lower the engine cradle which the rear motor mount bolts up to. I didnt do it this way, but supposedly you dont have to completely unbolt the subframe and drop it all the way. I did myself also, took me two days but i started late at night and wasnt paying attention and overtorqued the motor mount bolt and snapped it. LOL then i had to take it all apart again and then pull the motor mount out and weld a bolt on there cause apparently the stealership doesnt sell any individual parts for the rear motor mount and i would have had to drop 120 bucks on a new one. its prolly stronger now than it was...lol. anyway, do it yourself...i made it MUCH harder than it needed to be and i finished it in 7 hours total
