Ok so i get a "scraping" like sound when i take a hard right turn. That is the only time. I have a bad feeling that this has been doing this for a while.

What I'm trying to figure out:

Is this a brake shield(tried bending it already to no avail)?
Wheel bearing?
What else?

Its in the rear end, I'm thinking left(drivers) side but not entirely sure.

I'm about to break down and take it to a shop in town here if i can't figure this out.

 

bump? I'm outta ideas and I'm sure someone has at least one...

 

Maybe one possibility is your wheel rubbing on snow and ice build-up around your suspension components, or maybe not. But it sure sounds like it would be coming from your brake shield. Where is the noise coming from - front or rear?

 

Video? I have had a similar issue and it was the brake shield.

 

Nevermind me asking where. I over looked. But I would remove your rear rotors to see if a pebble or rock got caught in between the rotor and sheild.

 

check your abs bracket to see if it broke and your abs line is rubbing on the wheel on full lock. that happened to mine and i fixed the bracket with duct tape...

I'm sure its nothing crazy bad, cause its only in a pretty hard corner.

 

Is the scraping sound kind of like a screetching sound. Pretty high pitched?

 

Imagine something rotating, like a circular shape of metal. Now take something and push into that metal, as it rotates. Its a metal on metal scrape.

 

What's the mileage?

Sounds like the most inner part of the rear rotor's edge closer to the hub is beginning to rust. When it rusts, that area usually expands outward towards the brake shield. Then it rubs together only when the rotor slightly shifts on hard turns. I would also check your rear brake hardware and brake pad condition.

Another possibility is your e-brake mechanisms inside the rear rotor.

 

Car has 75k. Everything brake wise works fine, stops good. Haven't pulled it apart too recently, but less then 20k ago and pads were fine.

I'm thinking the rust thing, or worst case scenario bearing failure?
