So I have had my set of SS-P for about a year and a half, and they are awesome the handling is amazing, but what im wondering is how long they last before losing there compression or going bad? And also to get other tC owners experiences.
Sorry I probably should have specified the noise. Its a clunking sound. Only on uneven streets. Its pretty much quite on smooth, paved roads and highways.
how many miles??? sounds like it could be blown
Check the rubber eye ring bushing at the bottom of the rear coilovers. See if there is any cracks in the rubber or smash look. Also if you have a chance to remove the rear coilovers from the vehicle, after you disassemble the damper you can check for any leaks under the dust boot. If you have the SS-P kit, you can check the pillowball bearing by removing the uppermount from the assembled coilover and inserting you finger into bearing. The bearing should not have any up and down movement.
