Default Which one is it? Multi-link or Double wishbone?

I feel like kind of a noob asking this but which type of set up is the rear suspension on the tC? I remember reading in 05 it was a multi-link rear but now I've seen it advertised as a double wishbone? I'm pretty sure they aren't the same setup with different names. Or is it a typo on Toyota's part? Or did they change it part way through production and expect most people to not think twice about it? I did some searching and found nothing conclusive about whether or not they changed it. Thanks

I did 3 years ago when I put the suspension on and it looked like a multi-link to me. But I don't have an 09 to compare it to.

https://www.scionlife.com/scion/tc/datasheet.pdf

double wishbone suspension, front and rear anti-roll bars with macpherson struts upfront and multilink in the rear, coil springs and tube shocks front and back.

uhh..

it's always been a double-wishbone...
never saw anything saying it was multi-link.. and that pdf file is some third party thing..

i'd look at this instead first

I guess I'll have to find and scan the ad for an 05. I was talking about the rear suspension not the front. And I think it is a double-wishbone type multi-link rear.

A wishbone has three mounting points, the top arm on the tC in the rear has just 2 thus not a wishbone. The lower unit has 3 so this could be considered a single wishbone rear suspension with multiple links, etc but not a true double wishbone so the correct term is multilink rear suspension.

I have race chassis books and have studied many layouts, this is clearly not a double wishbone rear suspension car.

hmmm.. i can't argue with Rick.

multilink it is then...

how odd.. guess i'll need to shove my head under the car more often... i thought i did so enough already.. apparently didn't pay enough attention to that setup.. :?

wishbone-ish it is.. but.. yea... *shrug*
