Default question from a newbie

well, i was planning to install TRD shocks & lowering springs, and hotchkis sway bar set but here's the problem i ran into... the new house that i just baught has about 5inch drop from the driveway to the road... and i was thinking about just not installing the lowering springs whats so ever... and here's the question... would my install be no good w/o the lowering springs? if you have any suggestions, please let me know

well if the shocks are tuned to work with the lowering springs, then yeah you'd have a problem.. if the trd shocks are just to be used for a more "sporty" feel on any spring combo (stock or other) then you'd be okay.. wish i knew if they were for use in conjunction with the lowering springs.. your dealer might be able to tell ya, like the parts guy..

just what i could help with

Do you own the car yet? if so, what sort of clearance are you getting with the stock shocks and springs?

^^^^What he said.

You still might be able to clear it even with the TRD lowering springs.

I believe the trd springs lower your car about 1.2" - 1.5".

If you arent hitting bottom now, you should be fine with your driveway, just dont approach it straight on if you can. Try to angle your entry onto your driveway and you should be fine.

1.25" drop in the front and rear, with a 18% spring rate increase in the front and a 26% increase in the rear.

after the springs settle it tends to be lower an additional 1/8-1/4 of an inch
