Really dumb noob question. What does a strut bar do?

strut bars do work, but less on tC than other cars. Unless youre into autoX or road course racing where chassis rigidity is tested, they are a bit of a waste on the streets. Sway bar (anti-roll bar/anti-sway bar) do NOT work the same as strut bars. Strut tower bars are TIE bars that just tie the chassis for a more solid feel. But the tC front strut tower is already attached to firewall so the effect isnt that great. As ConjunctionJunction stated, good tires are a very good investment.... costs $ but it improves pretty much every performance category. Good strut bars do not cost too much..... and it doesnt hurt to have 1.
