the alignment place i went to after putting in s-techs... they said fronts can be adjusted with new bolts.... but the rears he said i had to buy camber kits or something because he cant do the rears, and he said the car was too low to drive on to the machine anyway... any advice?

the rears are already adjustable to a certain degree with s-techs you will be fine without a new camber bolt. the fronts need a camber bolt but the fronts dont camber much after lowering. go to another alignment place. you should be able to get it back to spec without any new parts.

i agree.... get a second opinion.... when i lowered mine with TRD springs and got it aligned.... the tech was surprised that the rears were alignable.... so if they say they can't aligned it... go somewhere else...

worse case go to the dealer... atleast they will be able to...

Did they even try to put it on the rack? Sounds like they're just saying it's too low b/c they were too lazy to put it up and see how far off it is to give you a real answer.

still never got it alighment. Every car I had would have needed a camber kit for the rear. So I was waiting to get one before did all that. But it bothers me is that I got really soft tires. only drove about 3000k with it like that

Truthfully they should be able to align the car with out camber bolts or rear camber links. I mean they're always nice to have. I'm not sure how low the S-techs are but I think it's BS that they couldn't get it on the alignment machine. I'd take it somewhere else and have the alignment done. You can do serious damage to your car and the suspension it it's too far off.

If you have to get camber bolts then I'm suggesting Ingles. I used them in my Nissan and I have no problems. Of course I'm going to say get the Hotchkis rear camber links because we sell them. But they really are great to have especially if you do and auto-Xing.

There are eccentric bolts in the rear of the car. That is all they need to adjust the camber in the rear tires. You do not need a camber kit. If you were told thay they couldn't align it properly, either they didn't even look or they are lying.

yeah they said they couldnt do much for the fronts but they might do the rears, they said there was no eccentric bolt adjustment in the front... i guess they were kinda truthful. but its not too far negative ... i mean it cant be more then 3 deg in the back and like 1.5 or less in the front. im not sure if im keeping stechs on so i might just run it this way and wait till i get new springs and struts.. by then ill need new tires and that will give me an excuse to max the cards out to get some new rims and tires

Just so you know, you can buy eccentric bolts for the front from your dealer for about $8

The camber should not be your biggest worry after getting it lowered (with anything). You should be worried about toe-in.

That means the front of your tires are pointing in towards the car. So from a top view, you'd have this:

/------\

Instead of:

|------|

That will usually cause more wear than negative camber if it's out of spec.

I love coilovers. lol I just wish we sold them. I know I had H&R's on my Altima and a year late tossed them for a set of ground control coilovers.

the guy said he would toe in the fronts to help correct negative camber... i think this guy has no idea what hes doing..... im starting to scrape on stuff with s-techs.. i drive so careful but when i have like 4 people in the car sometimes turning up hilly streets scrapes the whole underside of the front bumber, it makes me sad with 3000 miles on my tc ... i went over a parking stop the other day too .. so sad

Toe-in to correct negative camber? I'm no mechanic, but that doesn't really sound right to me.

That's like someone walking straight while leaning to the side... and the doctor having them walk around in a circle to correct it.

Tow-in to correct camber.........Yeah I would love to see someone pull that off. I guess it doesn't really matter that they are 2 totally different adjustment.
