Default Rear suspension sides

I installed TRD shocks / springs in September, but just recently I've started hearing a snapping noise of some sort coming from the driver's side rear wheel well. My local dealer has determined that the shock is the source of the problem, so I'm wondering, can the shocks in the rear be swapped between the driver's side and passenger's side? I don't remember when my friend and I installed them. I'm hoping that by swapping sides, if the noise is on the passenger side, then I'll definately know for sure the shock is the problem and the dealer isn't just trying to get my car out of their garage. Thanks.

As long as it's reassembled correctly, you should be able to swap them... as far as I know.
